Job Title: Application EngineerLocation: HyderabadExperience: 3 to 6 yearsJob Description:We are seeking an Application Engineer to join our product engineering teams, focusing on building customer-facing features and applications that directly serve financial advisors and their clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful product features while developing expertise in wealth management technology. You'll implement features independently, participate in architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with product managers and designers to deliver impactful solutions.This role is based in Hyderabad and follows a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with colleagues across India and the United States, with reasonable working-hour overlap when needed for team ceremonies, planning, and delivery. This is an excellent change to be part of building a new Global Capability Center and shaping an engineering and product culture based on deep partnership and ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development & ImplementationImplement features independently within established architecture patternsHandle complex bug fixes and participate in incident remediation and root cause analysisWrite comprehensive tests (unit, integration) and maintain high code quality standardsDiagnose and resolve non-trivial bugs in production applicationsUse secure coding practices and design standards with data privacy best practicesTechnical Design & ArchitectureContribute to technical specifications and design documents for application featuresImplement solutions for complex problems within the wealth management domainIdentify edge cases and potential issues during feature developmentEvaluate and recommend technical approaches for application-level challengesCreate reusable patterns and components for application developmentProcess & ExecutionParticipate actively in planning and estimation for feature developmentManage personal workload and priorities effectivelyFollow engineering standards consistently and participate actively in code reviewsIdentify and address process inefficiencies in application developmentDemonstrate ownership of application codebases and fight complexity through simple solutionsCollaboration & CommunicationWork effectively with product, design, quality, and information security teamsCommunicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholdersParticipate actively in requirement discussions with product managersProvide constructive feedback in code reviews and mentor junior engineersDemo application features and functionalities effectively to stakeholdersKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong proficiency in modern programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, Python)Experience with web application frameworks and technologies (React, Node.js, .NET, etc.)Solid understanding of database design and query optimizationExperience with RESTful APIs and modern application architecture patternsKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologiesUnderstanding of secure coding practices and data privacy requirementsFamiliarity with wealth management or financial services domains preferredStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyAbility to collaborate effectively in a hybrid, globally distributed engineering organization and communicate across technical and business teamsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field3-6 years of software engineering experience with focus on application developmentExperience building and maintaining customer-facing web applicationsTrack record of successfully delivering features end-to-endExperience with agile development methodologies and cross-functional collaboration
