Application Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced Application Solution Architect to lead the design, modernization, migration, and governance of enterprise applications on Microsoft Azure.This role combines architecture leadership, presales engagement, application modernization, DevOps transformation, and cloud governance, with a strong hands‑on foundation across Azure PaaS, containers, DevOps, and GitHub.The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, sales teams, architects, and engineering teams to translate business objectives into secure, scalable, and cost‑effective Azure solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Application ModernizationLead end‑to‑end application modernization initiatives, migrating legacy applications to Azure PaaS and cloud‑native architecturesDesign secure, scalable, resilient Azure architectures aligned with enterprise standards and best practicesDefine architectural patterns for microservices, containerized, and serverless architecturesAnalyze application dependencies, configurations, and migration pathwaysEnsure architectures align with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and strategiesAzure Platform & Technical LeadershipArchitect solutions using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container InstancesDrive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using ARM templates / TerraformOversee application deployments, observability, and reliability using Azure Monitor, Log AnalyticsEnforce security and compliance across the application lifecycle (Entra ID, identity, data protection)Presales & Client EngagementAct as technical lead during presales, customer workshops, and solution‑shaping discussionsCreate High‑Level Designs (HLDs), architectural proposals, and cost estimations (ROM)Contribute to RFP/RFI responses and Statements of Work (SOW)Design and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate business valueCommunicate architectural decisions clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholdersDevOps, GitHub & Migration LeadershipLead and govern Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise Cloud migrationsPlan, execute, and monitor migrations using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) or equivalent toolsValidate post‑migration repositories (issues, PRs, metadata, CI/CD workflows)Troubleshoot and resolve migration errors, warnings, and user attribution issuesCollaborate with development teams to ensure pipeline integrity and qualityMaintain detailed documentation for migration activities and remediation stepsGovernance, Risk & Best PracticesDefine architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for development teamsEstablish governance frameworks using Azure Policies and BlueprintsIdentify technical risks and provide mitigation strategiesEnsure solutions meet performance, security, scalability, and cost‑optimization goalsCore Technical SkillsAzure & Application ArchitectureDeep expertise in Azure IaaS & PaaS servicesStrong experience with application modernization and cloud migration strategiesDesigning distributed systems, microservices, and serverless architecturesProgramming & DevelopmentHands‑on experience in one or more of:.NET / C#JavaNode.jsPythonStrong understanding of application and database connectivity configurationsContainers & KubernetesContainerization using DockerHosting containerized applications on AKSUnderstanding Kubernetes internals and operational best practicesDevOps & AutomationHands‑on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub ActionsStrong knowledge of Git version control, branching strategies, and repository managementExperience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)Experience integrating APIs into automated workflowsRequired Experience & Qualifications10–12+ years of experience in application development and architectureProven leadership in application modernization and Azure migrationsExperience leading technical teams (5+ engineers)Strong understanding of GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOpsExposure to large‑scale source code repository migrationsExperience working with enterprise stakeholders and executive leadershipCertifications (Required / Preferred)Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Required)GitHub Foundations / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps certifications (Preferred)Soft SkillsStrong stakeholder communication and presentation skillsAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutionsLeadership mindset with experience defining technical directionStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilitiesNice to HaveExperience with GitHub Copilot assessment toolsFamiliarity with Enterprise Architecture modeling and business capability roadmapsExperience demonstrating business value through architecture decisions
