Reports To: Applications Engineering ManagerWork Location: Onsite - Eden Prairie, MNPosition SummaryThe Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting customers throughout their journey with Third Wave Systems (TWS) solutions, from initial software evaluations through implementation, training, and ongoing success. This customer-facing role works closely with Sales, Product Management, Development, and Customer Success teams to provide technical expertise, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and identify opportunities for customer growth and adoption.The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, working directly with customers, and helping organizations improve machining processes through software technology.RequirementsCore ResponsibilitiesCustomer Engagement & Technical SupportServe as a primary technical resource for customers throughout their lifecycle with TWS solutionsSupport software evaluations, proof of concept projects, onboarding, and implementation activitiesRespond to customer and distributor inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate solutions with internal teamsBuild strong customer relationships to promote successful adoption and long-term satisfactionTraining & Professional ServicesDeliver customer and distributor training through workshops, webinars, and one-on-one sessionsDevelop application examples, training materials, and technical documentationSupport paid service engagements focused on process improvement, software application, and manufacturing optimizationDocument project outcomes and provide recommendations to customersBusiness Development & Industry SupportPartner with Sales to provide technical support for customer meetings, demonstrations, and evaluationsRepresent TWS at trade shows, webinars, and industry eventsPromote awareness and adoption of new software features, capabilities, and best practicesIdentify opportunities for additional services, product expansion, and customer growthProvide technical guidance that supports sales strategy and customer decision-makingProduct & Customer FeedbackCapture and communicate customer feedback, enhancement requests, and support trendsCollaborate with Product Management, Development, and Quality teams to improve products and customer experienceKnowledge, Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering fieldAbility to demonstrate Third Wave Systems Core Values: See the Big Picture, Take Action, Collaborate, Make an ImpactStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer-focused mindset with a desire to help others succeedAbility to learn complex software applications and manufacturing processesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work collaboratively across departments and with customersExperience with CAD/CAM/CAE software (NX, CATIA, MasterCAM Creo, Solidworks, etc.), CAE software (Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL) as well as experience with CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemens controls, and hard-to-machine metalsActively seeks opportunities to learn new technologies, tools, processes, and industry trendsWillingness to travel approximately 25%BenefitsThe salary range is $75,000-$85,000.Third Wave Systems offers a comprehensive employee benefits program for full-time employees.Health InsuranceDental InsuranceHSA401 (k) + Employer MatchPaid time offHoliday pay
