Applied AI Engineer

zero.university is hiring an Applied AI Engineer. Full time, on-site in Dubai and remote!Zero is a learning platform where people build skills for the world's most in-demand careers by working through realistic scenarios based on actual jobs, using the same tools and workflows modern teams use. Each experience is personalized to accelerate learning, develop practical capabilities, and the work a learner produces becomes a portfolio they can show. This role is designing, implementing, and optimizing AI systems behind those learning experiences. You'd work closely with product, engineering, and content to turn real job scenarios into AI-powered workflows, including natural language interfaces and adaptive learning systems.Day to day, you'd be building, iterating and evaluating our product features which powered by LLM, integrating capabilities, developing scalable architecture, and monitoring performance for reliability, fairness, and effectiveness and contributing to Zero's AI strategy and tooling.We're looking for:Strong foundation in computer science and software development, including strong knowledge about gen AI (LLM, VLM etc) and uses agents to move fast through out developmentApplied experience with machine learning or deep learning problems as forward we will have more use cases for native algorithms instead of relying on LLM on specific problemHands-on NLP: training, fine-tuning, and evaluating language models (future roadmap)Familiar with cloud such as AWSExperience deploying and maintaining AI systems in production, with attention to scalability, monitoring, and securityAble to work across teams, explain complex technical concepts clearly, and document work thoroughlyBachelor's or Master's in computer science, AI, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceBackground in education technology, learning science, or building user-centric products is a plusOn trial phase/probation, you will be working remotely while we are observing your performance on deciding you to relocate to Dubai.
