Applied AI Engineer, Product Intern
NUSX · Singapore (On-site)
Tailor my CV for this job — freeNUSX Labs is NUSX's technical arm, turning NUS research into inventions, patents, and licensed deals. We're a small, hands-on team building the internal software that runs this work: review interfaces for our data pipelines, a deal-signal app for the investment team, service health monitoring, and automations. You'll build these end to end, AI in the loop, on our own infrastructure, and ship real tools colleagues use within six months. You'll be supervised directly by an engineer on the team, with real stakeholder-facing projects and deployment experience. Roles and Responsibilities Build a data-review application: an interface for the team to search, review, and correct a catalog of hundreds of fields captured from a legacy system. Build a deal-signal application for the investment team to surface early-stage, NUS-linked founder signals for analyst triage. Extend the service status page to cover additional applications and workflows, consolidating outage visibility. Contribute to Evo, our in-house build of the patent and IP-management platform, across its intake, lifecycle, and dashboard workstreams. Develop agents and automations that connect internal systems, using Claude or Antigravity for the judgment step, and write tests to ensure reliability. Scope may extend beyond the responsibilities listed above. Demonstrated experience building and shipping a project (personal, academic, or hackathon) to completion. Proficiency in a modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python). Working knowledge of full-stack development: a modern frontend framework (e.g. React), a backend/API layer, and basic SQL. Familiarity with version control (git) and software testing practices. Experience calling LLM APIs, building agents, or working with RAG. Willingness to learn domain knowledge (e.g. patents). Willingness to use AI tools (Claude, Antigravity) daily. Nice to have: basic cloud experience (GCP/AWS); CI/CD; comfortable reading and working in English and Chinese. Please be informed that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
