We’re a funded FinTech/RegTech startup growing the R&D team of SOX-AI GmbH in Munich. We develop deterministic AI systems for financially critical processes, where reliability, explainability and reproducibility matter. Our platform is already deployed at NASDAQ-listed companies. You’ll join a small, highly technical team with deep research and industry experience in our Munich office, working at the intersection of applied research and a real-world AI product. In this role, you will Research and develop new methods to improve the efficiency, reliability and accuracy of our AI systems. Design new rigorous approaches for evaluating and validating LLM-based systems in financially critical processes. Develop new methods for analyzing large volumes of business process data, including sequence analysis and the detection of rare anomalies. Turn research ideas into working prototypes and collaborate with our engineering team to bring successful approaches into the product. Develop intellectual property and contribute to patent applications. Build academic collaborations and publish selected research at leading conferences and journals. Become an expert of the financial auditing domain and drive the product development. Who we’re looking for A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. A strong research track record in machine learning, NLP/LLMs, process mining, data mining or a related area with publications of peer-reviewed research. Experience in developing complex algorithms Strong programming skills in Python and experience implementing and evaluating ML/AI methods. Comfortable taking ownership of research projects while collaborating closely with software engineers and domain experts. Excellent communication skills in English. Nice to have Research or practical experience with LLM-based systems. Experience working with financial, enterprise or other regulated-domain data. Why SOX-AI?
