Our distributed teams collaborate across Aquaculture Operations, Marine Biology, Hatchery Management, Fish Health, Water Quality, Environmental Sustainability, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Executive Leadership to produce high-quality aquatic products while promoting sustainable resource management and food security.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Aquaculture Manager to lead aquaculture operations, production planning, sustainability initiatives, and biological performance programs. The ideal candidate will oversee hatchery and grow-out operations, fish health management, environmental compliance, production optimization, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring efficient, sustainable, and profitable aquaculture operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement aquaculture strategies, production plans, operational standards, and sustainability initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.Lead aquaculture operations across hatcheries, nurseries, grow-out facilities, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), ponds, cages, offshore farms, or land-based production facilities, as applicable.Collaborate with Marine Biologists, Veterinarians, Nutrition Specialists, Environmental Scientists, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Executive Leadership to optimize production and sustainability.Manage production planning, stocking schedules, harvesting programs, feeding strategies, biomass management, and inventory control.Oversee fish and shellfish health monitoring, biosecurity measures, disease prevention programs, vaccination schedules, aquatic animal welfare, and veterinary coordination.Monitor water quality parameters including temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrate, and other environmental indicators to maintain optimal production conditions.Develop and implement feeding programs, nutritional strategies, feed conversion optimization, and waste reduction initiatives.Conduct biological performance analysis, production forecasting, mortality assessments, growth monitoring, and yield optimization.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, aquaculture licensing requirements, food safety standards, animal welfare guidelines, and sustainability certifications.Coordinate facility maintenance, equipment performance, water treatment systems, aeration systems, pumps, filtration technologies, and infrastructure improvements.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including survival rates, feed conversion ratio (FCR), growth performance, biomass yield, production efficiency, water quality compliance, operational costs, sustainability metrics, and customer quality standards.Conduct operational audits, environmental assessments, risk analyses, production benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage aquaculture budgets, production resources, feed procurement, biological inventories, laboratory services, external consultants, and strategic aquaculture development projects.Drive digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered production analytics, IoT-enabled water quality monitoring, predictive disease detection, automated feeding systems, digital farm management, workflow automation, and business intelligence solutions.Utilize AquaManager, AKVAconnect, Innovasea systems, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, ERP platforms, GIS tools, environmental monitoring systems, production management software, and aquaculture analytics platforms to optimize farm performance and generate actionable insights.Prepare executive dashboards, production reports, sustainability performance reviews, biological assessments, risk analyses, operational forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.Lead, mentor, and develop aquaculture technicians, farm supervisors, hatchery personnel, fish health specialists, and cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of sustainability, animal welfare, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or a related field.Master's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Science, Fisheries Management, Environmental Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline is highly advantageous.Professional certifications in Aquaculture Management, HACCP, Food Safety, Biosecurity, Project Management Professional (PMP), or sustainability-related certifications are preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in aquaculture, fisheries, hatchery operations, aquatic animal health, aquaculture production, or related roles.At least 2 years of experience managing aquaculture facilities, production teams, hatcheries, marine operations, or biological production programs preferred.Strong understanding of aquaculture production systems, fish nutrition, aquatic animal health, water quality management, biosecurity, environmental sustainability, production planning, and regulatory compliance.Experience with AquaManager, AKVAconnect, Innovasea platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, ERP systems, GIS technologies, environmental monitoring systems, and aquaculture management software.Familiarity with AI-powered aquaculture technologies, IoT-enabled environmental monitoring, automated feeding systems, predictive health analytics, digital twin technologies, and smart aquaculture platforms is highly advantageous.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, project management, budgeting, operational planning, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple aquaculture initiatives while balancing production efficiency, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, budgets, timelines, and organizational objectives.Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed production teams, farm operators, researchers, regulators, suppliers, executives, and global stakeholders, with occasional travel for farm inspections, production reviews,
