Aquaculture Manager to oversee aquaculture operations, production planning, animal health, biosecurity, facility management, workforce performance, and commercial outcomes.The successful candidate will lead aquaculture production programs covering marine and freshwater species while ensuring high standards of fish health, water quality, feed management, environmental performance, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.This role is ideal for professionals with experience in aquaculture, fisheries, marine biology, aquatic animal health, hatchery operations, fish farming, seafood production, or aquatic-resource management.🚀 What You'll DoDevelop and implement aquaculture strategies aligned with business, sustainability, and food-security objectivesManage day-to-day aquaculture operations across hatchery, nursery, grow-out, harvesting, and post-harvest activitiesDevelop production plans, stocking strategies, growth targets, harvesting schedules, and operational forecastsManage aquaculture facilities, tanks, ponds, cages, recirculating aquaculture systems, pumps, filtration, aeration, and related infrastructureMonitor water quality parameters including temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and other relevant indicatorsEstablish water-quality monitoring programs and corrective-action proceduresManage stocking densities, feeding programs, biomass, growth rates, feed conversion ratios, mortality, and production yieldsDevelop and optimize feeding strategies based on species, growth stage, environmental conditions, and production objectivesOversee hatchery and breeding activities, including broodstock management, spawning, larval production, and juvenile development where applicableEstablish comprehensive aquatic-animal health and biosecurity programsMonitor disease risks, mortality events, abnormal behavior, and animal-health indicatorsCoordinate veterinary, laboratory, diagnostic, and aquatic-health servicesDevelop quarantine, disinfection, pathogen-control, and emergency-response proceduresEnsure compliance with applicable UAE aquaculture, fisheries, environmental, animal-health, food-safety, and biosecurity requirementsManage environmental impacts including effluent, waste, water consumption, feed waste, and ecosystem interactionsImplement sustainable aquaculture practices to minimize environmental footprintEvaluate technologies such as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), biofloc, automated feeding, smart sensors, AI-based monitoring, and water-treatment systemsMonitor production KPIs including survival rate, growth rate, feed conversion ratio, biomass, yield, mortality, water quality, and operating costsAnalyze production data and identify opportunities to improve productivity, animal health, resource efficiency, and profitabilityDevelop annual operating budgets, production forecasts, capital plans, and resource requirementsManage aquaculture equipment, feed suppliers, fingerling suppliers, veterinary providers, laboratories, contractors, and other vendorsNegotiate commercial agreements and monitor supplier performanceCoordinate harvesting, grading, processing, storage, transportation, and distribution activities where applicableEnsure products meet applicable quality, hygiene, traceability, and food-safety standardsSupport market analysis, product development, customer requirements, and commercial growth initiativesDevelop relationships with universities, research institutions, government agencies, technology providers, and aquaculture partnersLead research and development initiatives related to species selection, feed optimization, disease prevention, genetics, production systems, and safety, animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement✅ What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Aquatic Science, Animal Science, Environmental Science, or a related field5–10+ years of experience in aquaculture production, fisheries, hatchery operations, aquatic animal health, or related industriesProven experience managing commercial or research-based aquaculture operationsStrong knowledge of fish or aquatic-animal husbandry, water quality, feeding, production planning, and biosecurityExperience managing hatchery, nursery, grow-out, or recirculating aquaculture operationsStrong understanding of aquatic animal health and disease preventionExperience managing production teams, budgets, equipment, suppliers, and operational projectsStrong analytical, operational, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in marine, coastal, hatchery, and aquaculture-farm environmentsStrong understanding of the UAE aquaculture and marine environment is highly desirable🌟 Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or PhD in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Aquatic Animal Health, Fisheries Management, or a related disciplineProfessional certifications in aquaculture, fisheries, aquatic animal health, food safety, or environmental managementExperience with RAS, marine cage farming, pond aquaculture, hatchery management, recirculating systems, or integrated aquacultureStrong knowledge of aquatic disease diagnostics, fish health, vaccination, probiotics, pathogen management, and biosecurityExperience with HACCP, ISO 22000, GlobalG.A.P.
