maintaining strong animal welfare, environmental, and operational standards.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Aquaculture Manager to lead aquaculture production strategy, farm operations, aquatic animal health, water quality, feeding, biosecurity, harvesting, facility performance, and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate will oversee the complete production cycle from hatchery or stocking through nursery, grow-out, harvesting, processing coordination, and delivery while optimizing survival, growth, feed efficiency, production yield, product quality, environmental performance, and operating costs.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement aquaculture production strategies, operating plans, standards, and performance objectives.Manage day-to-day aquaculture operations across hatchery, nursery, grow-out, holding, harvesting, and support facilities where applicable.Develop production plans based on species, stocking capacity, environmental conditions, market demand, and facility capabilities.Manage production cycles, stocking densities, biomass, growth targets, survival rates, and harvest schedules.Select and maintain appropriate stocking strategies for species, production systems, and environmental conditions.Monitor stock health, behavior, feeding response, growth, mortality, and overall production performance.Establish procedures for receiving, acclimatizing, stocking, grading, transferring, and handling aquatic animals.Manage hatchery and nursery activities including broodstock, spawning, larval production, nursery development, and juvenile quality where applicable.Coordinate broodstock management, breeding programs, spawning schedules, and genetic considerations where relevant.Establish appropriate stocking densities and biomass-management practices.Monitor water quality parameters including temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, turbidity, and other relevant indicators.Establish water-quality monitoring schedules, sampling protocols, acceptable ranges, and escalation procedures.Manage water exchange, filtration, aeration, oxygenation, pumping, treatment, and circulation systems.Oversee recirculating aquaculture systems, filtration, biofilters, oxygenation, disinfection, and other water-treatment technologies where applicable.Monitor water-quality trends and identify conditions that may affect animal health, growth, survival, or feed utilization.Establish feeding strategies based on species, life stage, biomass, water conditions, growth targets, and feed performance.Manage feed procurement, storage, handling, distribution, and inventory.Monitor feed consumption, feeding response, feed conversion, waste, and feeding efficiency.Optimize feeding programs to improve growth while minimizing feed waste and environmental impact.Establish aquatic animal health and disease-prevention programs.Coordinate routine health monitoring, sampling, diagnostics, treatment, and disease surveillance.Develop biosecurity procedures covering personnel, equipment, water sources, stocking, quarantine, disinfection, visitor access, and animal movement.Establish quarantine and isolation procedures for new, sick, or potentially infected stock.Coordinate with aquatic veterinarians, fish-health specialists, laboratories, and external experts where required.Investigate abnormal mortality, disease outbreaks, poor growth, behavioral changes, and production abnormalities.Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions following health or production incidents.Maintain accurate animal-health records, mortality records, treatment records, diagnostics, and production histories.Ensure responsible use of veterinary products, treatments, chemicals, and other health-management inputs.Monitor harvesting operations to protect animal welfare, product quality, and production yield.Develop harvesting schedules based on biomass, market requirements, product specifications, and facility capacity.Coordinate grading, sorting, handling, packing, cold-chain requirements, and transfer to processing or distribution facilities.Maintain product traceability from stocking through harvest and delivery.Ensure aquaculture operations comply with applicable environmental, animal-health, food-safety, welfare, and regulatory requirements.Monitor environmental impacts associated with water use, nutrient discharge, waste, chemicals, feed, energy, and other farm activities.Establish procedures for managing sludge, mortalities, wastewater, biological waste, and other aquaculture by-products.Monitor effluent quality and ensure discharge requirements are met where applicable.Develop environmental monitoring and sustainability programs for farm operations.Optimize water, energy, feed, labor, and other resource utilization.Manage farm equipment, pumps, aerators, feeders, filtration systems, sensors, tanks, cages, ponds, and other infrastructure.Establish preventive and corrective maintenance programs for critical aquaculture equipment.Monitor equipment reliability, downtime, failures, spare parts, and maintenance requirements.Develop contingency plans for power failures, oxygen shortages, water-quality deterioration, disease outbreaks, equipment failures, extreme weather, and other operational emergencies.Establish emergency-response procedures for mass mortality, system failures, contamination events, and environmental incidents.Lead, train, coach, and develop aquaculture technicians, operators, biologists, supervisors, and support personnel.Establish competency requirements and training programs covering animal handling, feeding, water quality, biosecurity, equipment, health, safety, and emergency response.Manage workforce schedules, staffing requirements, shift coverage, and operational resources.Promote strong animal-welfare and workplace-safety cultures across farming, shrimp farming, hatchery operations, aquatic animal health, marine biology, fisheries, water management, or related agricultural and biological production environments.The candidate should demonstrate:Proven experience managing commercial aquaculture or aquatic production operations.Strong understanding of aquatic animal biology, production cycles, growth, stocking, feeding, and harvesting.Experience managing hatchery, nursery, grow-out, or integrated aquaculture operations.Strong knowledge of water-quality management and aquatic production systems.Experience with recirculating aquaculture systems, ponds, tanks, cages, raceways, or other relevant production technologies.Strong understanding of aquatic animal health, disease prevention, biosecurity, and mortality management.Experience developing feeding strategies and monitoring feed conversion and growth performance.Strong understanding of aquatic animal welfare and responsible production practices.Experience managing production data, biomass calculations, growth analysis, and performance forecasting.
