Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the RoleLead fish health management programs across hatchery, early stage and offshore production.ResponsibilitiesLead fish health management programs across hatchery, early stage and offshore production.Diagnose, investigate, and manage fish diseases, mortality events, and health challenges.Conduct disease surveillance, necropsies, sample collection, and microscopy analysis.Design and oversee fish health monitoring schedules and reporting systems.Develop treatment protocols and ensure responsible use of veterinary medicines and therapeutics.Train and mentor fish health technicians and production staff on fish health / welfare related programs.SOP development, implementation, and auditing of fish health department.Contribute to SOP development, implementation, and auditing of fish handling and welfare proceduresParticipate in strategic planning to improve survival rates, fish welfare, productivity, and farm sustainability.Liaise with regulatory authorities, external veterinarians, researchers, and industry stakeholders when necessary.Manage fish health budgets, laboratory consumables, equipment, and veterinary inventory.Acting as a “voice for the fish”, bridging the gap between veterinary science / animal welfare and the rigour of commercial farming.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Aquatic Animal Health, Aquaculture, Fishery Science, Marine Biology, or a related field.Relevant professional experience in fish health management, aquaculture veterinary care, or aquatic animal health.Experience working across hatchery, early-stage and offshore/farm production environments.Strong practical experience in fish disease diagnosis, mortality investigation, necropsy, sampling, microscopy, and disease surveillance.Experience developing and implementing fish health monitoring programs, SOPs, treatment protocols, and biosecurity practices.Experience leading or mentoring fish health technicians and production teams.Working knowledge of fish welfare, responsible veterinary medicine use, regulatory compliance, and aquaculture sustainability.Ability to collaborate with veterinarians, laboratories, researchers, regulatory bodies, and farm/production teams.Required SkillsFish Health ManagementAquatic Animal HealthFish Disease Diagnosis & ManagementDisease Surveillance & Mortality InvestigationNecropsy & Sample CollectionMicroscopy & Diagnostic TechniquesFish Health MonitoringBiosecurity & Disease PreventionVeterinary Medicine & TherapeuticsFish Welfare & Health ProtocolsPay range and compensation packageBest in industry, commensurate with experience and expertise
