Area cleaning Supervisor

The team is known for a friendly, energetic culture and a commitment to doing things differently while being proud to make a meaningful impact.Role Description The Area suoervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Portsmouth, responsible for overseeing facilities services across multiple customer locations. This role includes managing day-to-day operations for security, cleaning, and maintenance services, ensuring service quality, safety, and compliance with customer agreements. The Area Manager will lead and support site teams, coordinate staffing and scheduling, and act as the primary point of contact for customers in the assigned area. Daily activities involve conducting site visits, monitoring performance metrics, resolving issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role also includes budget oversight, reporting on operational outcomes, and collaborating with senior management to support growth and continuous improvement.Qualifications Experience in facilities management or related services (security, cleaning, maintenance), with a strong understanding of operational best practices.Proven people management skills, including team leadership, coaching, scheduling, and performance management across multiple sites.Customer relationship skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, manage expectations, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.Organizational and planning skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail in reporting and documentation.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on safety, service quality, and continuous improvement.Comfort working on-site and traveling between locations within the Portsmouth area; valid driver’s license is beneficial.Previous experience in an area, regional, or contract management role is preferred; background in FM or soft services is an advantage.Relevant vocational training or qualifications in facilities management, security, or cleaning services are beneficial.
