Team members are encouraged to build trust and long-term relationships with customers, helping them navigate financial challenges responsibly.Role Description This full-time Area/Local Manager role is a hybrid position, based in the Worcester, Kidderminster and Tamworth area with work-from-home flexibility. The Area/Local Manager will oversee day-to-day operations across assigned locations, ensuring that lending activities are compliant, responsible, and aligned with company policies. Typical responsibilities include leading and supporting local teams, monitoring loan performance, and maintaining high standards of customer service and conduct. The role involves visiting customers and community partners, guiding staff on best practices, and addressing escalated customer issues when necessary. The Area/Local Manager will also analyse local market trends, identify growth opportunities, and report on performance metrics to senior management while fostering a community-focused, ethical lending culture.QualificationsDemonstrated experience in managing teams or branches within financial services, retail, or a similar customer-focused sector.Strong customer service and relationship-management abilities, with the capacity to engage sensitively with individuals in diverse financial circumstances.Solid organizational and time-management skills, including experience coordinating schedules, workloads, and local operations across multiple sites.Proficiency with basic office software and digital tools, including spreadsheets, CRM systems, and remote collaboration platforms.Sound understanding of responsible lending practices, compliance requirements, and ethical standards in consumer credit (or willingness to learn quickly).Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and support informed customer decisions.Comfort with hybrid working, including travel within the Worcester and Kidderminster area; a valid driving license and access to transport are beneficial.Previous experience in community-based roles, financial inclusion projects, or working with vulnerable customers is an advantage.Relevant education or professional qualifications in business, finance, management, or a related field are welcomed but not strictly required if experience is equivalent.
