Company Description Oben Electric is an electric motorcycle start-up founded in August 2020 by IIT and IIM alumni, headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The company is an R&D-driven organization that designs, develops, and manufactures electric motorcycles and critical EV components in-house. Its team of experienced technologists brings over 25 years of collective hands-on expertise in electric two-wheelers, with a strong focus on “Design in India for the World.” Oben Electric is reshaping the electric two-wheeler market in India through pioneering advances such as the use of safer, longer-lasting LFP battery chemistry and holds more than 18 patents for proprietary technology and components. As an early mover, the company is leading the adoption of electric motorcycles in India and aims to become the largest electric motorcycle OEM globally.Role Description The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and market penetration of Oben Electric motorcycles in the Ahmedabad region. This full-time, on-site role includes managing dealer relationships, identifying and onboarding new channel partners, and ensuring consistent achievement of sales targets. The role involves planning and executing regional sales strategies, monitoring performance metrics, and conducting market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitor activity. The Area Sales Manager will collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and customer support teams to ensure an excellent customer experience and effective post-sales service. The position also requires regular field visits, sales reporting, and representing the brand at local events and customer engagement activities.Qualifications Strong sales and business development skills, including territory management, channel partner handling, and target achievement.Experience in the automotive or EV sector, preferably in two-wheelers, with an understanding of retail networks and local market dynamics.Ability to analyze sales data, forecast demand, and develop actionable regional sales plans.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills for engaging dealers, customers, and internal teams.Proven capability to work on-site in a field-intensive role, with readiness for regular travel within the assigned territory.Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.Comfort with basic digital tools and CRM systems for reporting, documentation, and performance tracking.Self-motivated, goal-oriented professional with a collaborative mindset and commitment to ethical, inclusive workplace practices.
