Art Director / AI Visual Artist — End-to-End Image CreationEnd-to-End Image CreationFull-time  ·  Chinatown, New York (in office 4 days/week)  ·  $65,000–$85,000/year  ·  5 days PTOABOUT THE STUDIOStudio Gui Boucher is a creative studio based between New York and Paris, working in beauty and fashion. We pair traditional art direction with a new way of making images: photography and design alongside ComfyUI and RETINA, our private image-generation model. Training on both begins day one.The studio is small by design. You'll work directly with the Creative Director and Art Director, with real creative responsibility from the start. The current package is salary plus 5 days PTO; full benefits will come as the studio grows.We work from a brand-new studio in Chinatown — full-time, in office four days a week. The role opens with a paid three-month trial period, after which a full-time offer follows a successful trial.THE ROLEWe are looking for a hands-on AI Visual Artist / Art Director to help create high-end commercial imagery from concept through final retouching. You will work across photography, generative AI, compositing, image manipulation, and retouching to create images.You'll work with our proprietary models on campaigns for luxury beauty and fashion clients, developing expertise across hybrid photography and AI production workflows including model training. The role suits someone self-motivated who wants to seriously advance their technique.THE WORKCreate and produce images from start to finish across photography and the studio's proprietary generative AI workflowsPhotograph products and objects when required for integration into generated scenesBlend photographed or generated products naturally into environments and scenesWork on lighting, perspective, scale, shadows, reflections, textures, and material integrationComposite and manipulate images in Photoshop and other relevant toolsPerform detailed retouching and finishing of final imagesIdentify visual inconsistencies and push images toward a highly realistic, polished resultIterate through multiple versions based on creative direction and feedbackWork closely with the Creative Director to translate visual references and concepts into finished imageryHelp develop and improve our AI image-making workflows and production processesWHAT YOU NEEDAt least 3 years of professional experience in photography, image-making, retouching, compositing, or a related discipline — this is not an entry-level roleStrong foundation in photography, image-making, retouching, compositing, or a related disciplineExcellent visual judgment and attention to detailStrong understanding of lighting, perspective, scale, materials, and photographic realismExperience with Photoshop and professional image retouchingExperience with generative AI image tools and/or AI-assisted image workflowsAbility to seamlessly integrate objects and products into photographic or generated environmentsAbility to take feedback and refine work to a high visual standardCuriosity and willingness to learn new AI tools, models, and workflowsStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple image iterationsA portfolio demonstrating strong image-making skillsNICE TO HAVEProfessional photography experienceCommercial or fashion/beauty image-making experienceExperience with product photographyStrong Photoshop compositing and retouching skillsExperience with ComfyUI or similar node-based AI workflowsExperience working with fine-tuned or custom AI models3D or VFX experienceExperience working with luxury, beauty, fashion, or advertising imageryHOW TO APPLYApply through LinkedIn with your CV and a link to your portfolio.Show work demonstrating photography, compositing, AI-generated imagery, retouching, or any combination of these — primarily with fashion or beauty references.Beyond finished selects, we want to see how you work.
