Role SummaryThe Art Director leads RTB’s Creative Team and is responsible for the visual direction, creative quality, and execution standards of the Bank’s marketing and communications. The role translates campaign strategies, creative concepts, and communication objectives into distinctive visual systems and oversees their execution across design, motion, video, photography, digital, advertising, branch, event, and other brand touchpoints.The Art Director combines hands-on creative leadership with people and workflow management, ensuring that the Creative Team delivers high-quality work efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with RTB’s brand identity and commercial objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage RTB’s Creative Team, including Graphic Designers, Motion Graphic Designers, Video Editor, Photographer/Videographer, and other visual-production resources.Assign creative work, manage workloads and priorities, provide direction and feedback, and ensure timely delivery across the team.Develop the visual direction and art direction for major campaigns, product launches, brand initiatives, and institutional communications.Translate creative strategies and concepts into key visuals, design systems, visual identities, storyboards, and campaign executions.Review and approve the visual quality of Creative Team output before submission for final functional approval or publication.Maintain and continuously elevate RTB’s visual identity and overall standard of creative execution.Ensure consistency across digital, social media, advertising, print, outdoor, branch, events, video, photography, and other visual touchpoints.Work closely with the Creative Strategist and Content Team as peer creative functions, translating communication strategies, concepts, narratives, and content into visual execution.Collaborate with Performance Marketing, Product Success, Research & CX, Growth, and other Marketing functions on campaign and communication requirements.Direct photography and video production, including visual treatment, composition, styling, locations, casting, and other relevant creative considerations.Guide typography, layout, illustration, animation, motion, editing, photography, and other visual disciplines.Establish efficient creative workflows, templates, production standards, and quality-control practices for the Creative Team.Support the selection and creative supervision of production houses, photographers, directors, illustrators, agencies, freelancers, and other external creative resources.Coach and develop Creative Team members, identify capability gaps, and support continuous improvement of individual and team performance.Ensure creative output is appropriate for RTB’s audiences, channels, brand positioning, institutional reputation, and communication objectives.Maintain awareness of contemporary design, advertising, digital, cultural, and creative trends and introduce relevant practices into RTB’s creative work.Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of RTB’s brand guidelines and creative standards.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Advertising, Fine Arts, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.Typically 7–10+ years of relevant creative/design experience, including experience leading designers or multidisciplinary creative production.Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality campaign, brand, digital, advertising, and integrated communication work.Advanced understanding of graphic design, typography, composition, visual hierarchy, branding, photography, video, motion, and digital design.Strong proficiency in relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications and contemporary creative tools.Demonstrated ability to direct and develop other creative professionals.Experience managing multiple simultaneous creative assignments and production deadlines.Banking experience is not mandatory; strong experience from advertising agencies, telecommunications, technology, FMCG, financial services, or other sophisticated consumer-facing organizations is relevant.Key CompetenciesCreative leadership; art direction; people management; visual storytelling; conceptual thinking; brand stewardship; quality control; creative judgment; workflow management; attention to detail; coaching and development; communication; collaboration; cultural awareness; ability to work effectively across Arabic, Kurdish, and English communication environments.
