Job Description The Art instructor is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality visual arts education programmes for children, youth, adults, and community groups across the Art Centers. The role fosters creativity, artistic skills, and meaningful engagement through practical, inclusive, and learner-centered experiences while supporting the mission of the institution to increase public participation in the arts.The Art Teacher works closely with the Art Centers Programming team to deliver workshops, courses, community projects, school visits, and public programmes, while ensuring a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging visual arts classes, workshops, and courses for a wide range of audiences and age groups.Adapt teaching methods and lesson plans to meet the needs, abilities, and interests of diverse participants.Teach a variety of artistic techniques, materials, and processes across different visual art disciplines.Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, demonstrations, and learning resources.Facilitate creative learning experiences that encourage experimentation, critical thinking, collaboration, and artistic expression.Support the delivery of community engagement initiatives, outreach programmes, school partnerships, and public events.Maintain studios, classrooms, tools, equipment, and art materials in a safe, clean, and organized condition.Monitor and manage the use of art supplies and notify the appropriate team of material requirements.Assess participant progress through observation and constructive feedback while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Collaborate with colleagues, artists, facilitators, and external practitioners to deliver interdisciplinary projects and special programmes.Maintain accurate attendance records, programme documentation, and evaluation reports.Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.Represent the Art Centers professionally and contribute to a welcoming and positive visitor experience.QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in fine arts, Art Education, Visual Arts, or a related field.Teaching qualification is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 2–5 years of experience teaching visual arts in schools, community settings, museums, galleries, or cultural institutions, or practicing artist with a portfolio.Experience working with children, youth, adults, and diverse community audiences.Experience designing and facilitating creative workshops and educational programmes.Skills and CompetenciesStrong practical knowledge of visual arts techniques and materials.Excellent teaching, facilitation, and communication skills.Ability to engage participants of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities.Strong classroom and studio management skills.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Creative, adaptable, patient, and learner-focused.Proficiency in basic digital learning tools.Fluency in Arabic and English is required.Note: The position is based at one of the following locations in Sharjah: Al Madam, Dibba Al Hisn, or Kalba. The assigned work location will be confirmed at a later stage.
