Apply & track with Apply EdgeAI Solutions EngineerRole OverviewWe are seeking an AI Solutions Engineer who combines strong hands-on technical capabilities with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building solutions while also working directly with business leaders, clients, product teams, and technical stakeholders to understand complex problems and translate them into practical, scalable technology solutions. The successful candidate will have experience working with AI models, prompt engineering, software development, and system integrations, along with an understanding of the additional security, privacy, governance, and documentation considerations required when operating in regulated environments. This is not purely a development role. We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between a technical implementation discussion and a stakeholder conversation—understanding both what needs to be built and why.Key ResponsibilitiesAI & Solution DevelopmentDesign, prototype, build, test, and implement AI-enabled applications and workflows.Integrate large language models (LLMs), APIs, third-party platforms, and existing business systems.Develop and optimize prompts, structured outputs, AI workflows, and model interactions.Evaluate AI model performance, reliability, accuracy, and suitability for different business use cases.Explore approaches such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge systems, automation, and agentic AI workflows where appropriate.Build proof-of-concepts and translate successful prototypes into production-ready solutions.Work with engineering teams to establish scalable technical architectures and development approaches.Stakeholder & Client EngagementParticipate in discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders.Translate business challenges into clear technical requirements and solution designs.Explain complex technical and AI concepts in language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.Present solution recommendations, prototypes, technical approaches, and trade-offs.Lead or participate in technical demonstrations and stakeholder presentations.Help establish realistic expectations around what AI can and cannot accomplish.Serve as a bridge between clients, business stakeholders, product teams, and engineers throughout the solution lifecycle.AI Governance & Regulated EnvironmentsApply experience from regulated environments when designing and implementing technology solutions.Consider privacy, security, data governance, access controls, auditability, and responsible AI practices during solution design.Identify potential risks associated with using AI models and sensitive or proprietary information.Contribute to technical documentation, implementation standards, and governance processes.Work with stakeholders to ensure AI solutions align with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Engineering & ArchitectureDesign integrations between applications, APIs, databases, AI platforms, and third-party systems.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.Troubleshoot technical issues across applications, integrations, and AI workflows.Collaborate with developers, designers, product teams, project managers, and external technical partners.Contribute to code reviews, technical standards, testing practices, and deployment processes.QualificationsProfessional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, application development, or a related technical role.Hands-on experience working with AI models and large language models.Experience with prompt engineering and designing AI-powered workflows.Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, and modern application architecture.Experience working within or supporting a regulated industry or environment.Understanding of security, privacy, governance, and responsible data handling.Ability to move from business requirements to technical design and implementation.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work directly with stakeholders while remaining hands-on with engineering.Preferred ExperienceExperience in several of the following areas would be considered an asset:LLM APIs and AI development platformsRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Vector databases and semantic searchAI agents and agentic workflowsModel and prompt evaluationPython, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar development languagesREST APIs and third-party integrationsCloud platforms and servicesAuthentication and authorizationData security and privacyCI/CD and modern software development practicesAI governance and responsible AI frameworksTechnical discovery and solution architectureClient-facing consulting or professional servicesWhat Success Looks LikeSuccess in this position means being able to take a business problem from conversation to solution. You can sit with stakeholders, ask the right questions, identify the real business and technical requirements, propose an appropriate architecture, explain the approach clearly, and then work hands-on with the engineering team to build and deliver it.You understand that successful AI implementation requires more than connecting to a model. It requires thoughtful engineering, good data practices, testing, security, governance, and an understanding of how people will actually use the solution. Most importantly, you are equally comfortable building technology and talking about technology.
