ASBIR - Native Android Developer (Mid-level)

JOB FUNCTIONMid-Level Android Developer, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining our native Android applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust mobile experiences for our users.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFeature Development & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain high- performance, reusable, and reliable native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend teams to define, scope, and ship intuitive new features.Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, profile, and optimize application performance, responsiveness, and memory usage to ensure a seamless user experience.Code Quality & Debugging: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.Proactively identify, debug, and resolve technical bottlenecks and crash reports.Tech Evolution: Stay up-to-date with the latest Android SDK trends, Jetpack components, and industry best practices to continuously improve our development workflow.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Core Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in native Android development.Languages: High proficiency in Kotlin and a solid command of Java.Android Ecosystem: Deep understanding of the Android SDK, modern Android Jetpack libraries, and handling fragmentation across various Android versions and screen sizes.Networking & APIs: Strong familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking libraries (e.g., Retrofit, OkHttp) to connect apps to backend services.Architecture & Lifecycle: Solid grasp of standard mobile architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI) and a thorough understanding of the entire mobile app development lifecycle.Tools & Libraries: Proficient with Git for version control and experienced with popular third-party libraries and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).Bonus: Direct experience with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), media players (ExoPlayer/Media3), and handling real-time data streaming is highly valued.
