Apply & track with Apply EdgeASC Director | IllinoisRole overview:The ASC Director provides strategic leadership across a network of healthcare practices, overseeing operational performance, profitability, growth, compliance, and capital investment. The role partners closely with Physician Leadership, Operations Management, and Business Development to translate strategic objectives into measurable operational and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership across the practice network, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated patient care.Lead the Operations Management Team, setting clear performance expectations and driving accountability across optometry and ophthalmology practices.Develop and execute strategies to drive organic growth, revenue, EBITDA, productivity, and overall practice performance.Oversee financial performance, including budgets, operating expenses, labour costs, cost of goods, surgical costs, and asset management.Establish and implement operational policies, processes, and standards to ensure consistent performance and regulatory compliance.Partner with Business Development to identify acquisition opportunities, develop relationships with potential partners, and support successful integration of acquired practices.Use financial, operational, and market data to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.Lead organisational change and strategic initiatives, working cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions and support the long-term growth of the organisation.Build, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commitment to patient care.
Key Requirements
Extensive experience in senior business, operational, or multi-site healthcare leadership.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.Previous Optometry or Ophthalmology experience preferred.Proven experience leading large-scale operations and managing senior leaders and teams.Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with budgets, EBITDA, profitability, and operational KPIs.Demonstrated success in driving organic growth, operational improvement, and cost efficiencies.Experience supporting or leading acquisitions, integrations, or other significant organisational change preferred.Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and change-management skills.Excellent communication, influencing, presentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.Willingness to travel across practice locations and a valid driving licence.
