Team members contribute to solutions that have a direct impact on care quality and operational performance.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for an Assembly Technician at Shyld AI, based in Santa Clara, California. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and preparing Shyld devices and related equipment. The role includes installing mechanical and electrical components, completing wiring and cable connections, performing functional checks, and documenting assembly and test results.The Assembly Technician will also support product testing at third-party laboratories. This includes preparing and transporting devices, tools, fixtures, spare parts, and documentation; traveling to testing facilities; setting up equipment according to approved procedures; verifying proper operation; and troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, or configuration issues during testing.The position involves working closely with engineering, operations, and external laboratory personnel to ensure devices are assembled consistently, configured correctly, and ready for successful testing. An engineering degree is not required, but candidates should have practical technical experience and be comfortable working with mechanical and electrical systems.Qualifications3+ Years Hands-on experience in technical assembly, manufacturing, field service, laboratory support, or a related environment.3+ Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and other basic test equipment.Ability to perform functional inspections and identify basic mechanical, electrical, wiring, or configuration issues.Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to consistent workmanship. Ability to document assembly steps, test results, serial numbers, nonconformances, and rework clearly and accurately.Comfortable using computers for device configuration, firmware installation, recordkeeping, and basic troubleshooting.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, operations personnel, and third-party laboratory staff.Willingness and ability to travel to external testing laboratories as needed.Ability to prepare, pack, transport, set up, and operate devices and supporting test equipment.Ability to follow electrical, laboratory, and workplace safety procedures.Experience with electromechanical assembly, cable fabrication, crimping, soldering, or connector installation is preferred. Experience with prototype development, low-volume manufacturing, product verification, or certification testing is a plus. Experience working in a quality-controlled, medical technology, or regulated product environment is preferred but not required. Must be able to commute to our Santa Clara, California facility and travel to third-party testing laboratories when required.
