Assistant Accountant / Accounts Executive / Finance ExecutiveRole Description We are seeking a detail-driven, analytical, and proactive Assistant Accountant / Accounts Executive / Finance Executive to manage end-to-end accounting operations, prepare monthly financial statements, and support corporate financial reporting. In this mid-level finance role, you will work closely with Senior Accountants, Financial Controllers, Internal Auditors, and Operational Department Heads to maintain accurate general ledgers and ensure regulatory financial compliance. You will be responsible for overseeing full-spectrum accounts payable and receivable functions, executing complex bank and intercompany reconciliations, managing accruals and prepayments, and preparing schedules for month-end and year-end closes. Responsibilities include filing statutory tax returns (e.g., VAT/GST, corporate tax schedules), assisting with annual audit preparations, monitoring cash flow projections, and conducting monthly variance analyses on operational expenditures. Success in this position requires a strong technical understanding of accounting standards, advanced proficiency in ERP platforms and financial modeling in spreadsheets, sharp analytical capabilities, and high professional integrity.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline; active progress toward or completion of professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or ICAEW) is strongly preferred.Full-Spectrum Accounting & Month-End Close: Hands-on experience in managing general ledger operations, preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset registers, and executing month-end financial closing procedures.Financial Reporting & GAAP/IFRS: Solid understanding of financial statement preparation (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement) in compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS / Local GAAP).Tax Compliance & Statutory Filing: Practical knowledge of preparing and submitting statutory tax returns, indirect tax filings (e.g., VAT/GST/SST), and ensuring compliance with regional tax regulations.Audit Preparation & Governance: Experience coordinating with internal and external auditors, preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and maintaining robust internal controls.ERP System Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating enterprise financial software or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage, or Xero).Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, dynamic formulas, Pivot Tables, financial modeling, and variance reporting).Cash Flow & Variance Analysis: Ability to assist in rolling cash flow forecasts, budget tracking, and explaining monthly budget-versus-actual variances to management.Cross-Departmental Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with non-finance stakeholders, external vendors, and banking partners.Professional Attributes: Strong analytical diagnostic skills, rigorous attention to detail, high ethical standards, and the ability to work efficiently under tight monthly closing deadlines.
