Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Assistant Accountant / Accounts Executive / Finance Executive supporting the financial operations of CTEP. The role involves assisting with accounts payable and receivable, preparing and processing invoices, tracking expenditures, and reconciling ledgers aligned with program budgets and County policies. The individual will help maintain accurate financial records, support monthly and annual closing activities, and prepare routine financial reports, summaries, and documentation for internal stakeholders. Daily responsibilities include data entry into financial systems, verifying supporting documents, coordinating with project teams and vendors on billing and payment queries, and following established internal control procedures. The role also supports audit requests, helps monitor funding allocations for clean transportation projects, and contributes to process improvements in financial workflows.QualificationsCandidates should possess core accounting skills, including knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and basic budgeting principles.Candidates should possess financial reporting and analysis skills, such as preparing financial statements, cost tracking for projects, variance analysis, and producing clear summary reports for management.Candidates should possess strong data and systems skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel), accounting or ERP software, accurate data entry, and maintaining organized digital records.Candidates should possess administrative and documentation skills, including maintaining audit-ready files, organizing invoices and contracts, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication, the ability to coordinate with internal teams and vendors, and responsiveness in a remote work environment.Candidates should possess time management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and resolve routine accounting discrepancies with attention to detail.Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.Experience with public sector, grant-funded, or infrastructure projects, familiarity with sustainability or clean energy initiatives, and knowledge of governmental accounting standards are beneficial.
