Assistant Accountant / Accounts Executive / Finance Executive

Role Description The Director at micro1 will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the data lab’s RL environment development and deployment activities. This full-time, on-site role in Abuja involves defining long-term vision, setting priorities, and aligning projects with organizational goals. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure effective collaboration between data scientists, machine learning engineers, product leads, and operations staff. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing project roadmaps, monitoring performance metrics, managing budgets and resource allocation, and ensuring high standards for quality, security, and compliance. The Director will also mentor team members, support recruitment and talent development, and represent micro1 in external partnerships, industry events, and strategic discussions.QualificationsLeadership and management skills, including experience overseeing multidisciplinary technical teams and complex projects.Background in data science, machine learning, or reinforcement learning, with the ability to understand and guide technical work.Strategic planning and organizational development skills, including setting objectives, defining KPIs, and driving execution.Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with experience working across engineering, product, and business functions.Experience in research-driven or innovation-focused organizations, preferably within AI, data labs, or advanced analytics environments.Proficiency in project and program management practices, including budgeting, resource planning, and risk management.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.Ability to work on-site in Abuja and to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and creating an equitable, non-discriminatory workplace.
