Apply & track with Apply EdgeOverviewAstro Offshore is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Assistant Commercial Manager to support the Commercial team in driving business growth, managing client relationships, and identifying new opportunities.The role will support tender preparation, charter party agreements, client proposals, market analysis, business development, and pre- and post-fixture activities, while working closely with internal teams and external clients. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience within the Shipping, Marine, Offshore, or Logistics industry, with strong organisational, negotiation, and communication skills. This is a full-time, office-based role. ResponsibilitiesSupport the Commercial Manager and Head of Commercial in implementing the company’s commercial strategy to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion objectives.Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring service excellence, retention, and satisfaction across key accounts.Represent the company professionally in client meetings, negotiations, industry events, and conferences to enhance brand presence and market credibility.Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial systems, tools, and processes, including CRM and ERP optimisation.Proactively seek and identify potential business development opportunities to contribute to the company’s growth objectives.Register the company on various procurement platforms both Government and Nongovernment if required.Review tender requirements, prepare concise summaries, and highlight key commercial, technical, and compliance aspects for internal decision-making.Monitor and analyse market charter rates, industry trends, and competitor activities to support commercial decision-making and pricing strategies.Support the review and analysis of Charter Party Agreements (CPA), identifying key terms, obligations, and commercial risks, and assisting in coordination with relevant teams as needed.Participate in client meetings alongside the Commercial Manager, providing relevant information, and following up on action items where necessary.Support the Commercial Manager in preparing tenders, preparing charterparties in a timely manner respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.Present the company to potential clients through direct communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails.Ensure that relevant information and communication pertaining to opportunities/leads/clients is captured and stored in the company system.Support the Commercial Manager to manage all client proposals and any further documentation or information that may be required by effectively interacting with relevant internal departments and external sources.Complete and submit pre-qualifications in conjunction with SHEQ manager after approval from the Commercial Manager.Assist charters pre and post fixture. Skills and Experience5+ years of experience in a commercial, tendering, or documentation role in: Shipping, Marine, Offshore, or Logistics industry.Basic market awareness, organizational skills, attention to detail.Written & Spoken English, proficient in MS Office.Good Negotiation skills. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, Maritime Studies, Shipping / Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Any related field.
