Apply & track with Apply EdgeAssistant Consultant – Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU)King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) | Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaProvide specialized critical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a tertiary/quaternary pediatric cardiac intensive care environment.Key responsibilities and clinical experience:- Management of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients following complex congenital heart surgery and interventional cardiology procedures.- Comprehensive management of postoperative cardiac patients, including low cardiac output syndrome, arrhythmias, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, and other complex complications.- Advanced pediatric critical care including mechanical ventilation, vasoactive and inotropic support, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, fluid and electrolyte management, and renal support.- Active involvement in the care of patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), including clinical monitoring, troubleshooting, multidisciplinary decision-making, and assessment for weaning and decannulation.- Participation in the management of patients with complex single-ventricle physiology and staged palliation, including Norwood, Glenn, and Fontan pathways.- Close collaboration with pediatric cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary teams.- Participation in emergency response, resuscitation, and management of acute deterioration in critically ill pediatric cardiac patients.- Participation in PCICU on-call services and provision of continuous critical care.- Teaching and clinical supervision of residents, fellows, medical students, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.- Participation in clinical research, quality improvement projects, clinical audits, and development of evidence-based practices.- Commitment to patient safety, family-centered care, effective multidisciplinary communication, and continuous improvement in pediatric cardiac critical care.Areas of Clinical Interest:Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care | Congenital Heart Disease | ECMO | Mechanical Circulatory Support | Postoperative Cardiac Care | Single-Ventricle Physiology | Pediatric Hemodynamics | Cardiac Intensive Care
