And Circle Camp, Groton, NHCircle Program is seeking a full-time, year-round Assistant Director of Programs & Camps to join our program leadership team.This is a hands-on youth development position that brings together girls ages 9 – 18 who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences and are building resilience through supportive relationships and opportunities that include— year-round programming, mentoring, community service, leadership development, and residential summer camp. We are seeking a dynamic team leader who is passionate about empowering girls to discover their strengths, build resilience, and reach their potential. The ideal candidate will help lead Circle Program's newly developed character education curriculum, deliver impactful school year and summer camp programming, and cultivate meaningful relationships with youth, families, and community partners. They will bring compassion, creativity, and flexibility to their work and excel in a close-knit team environment focused on supporting girls who have experienced adversity and helping them thrive.If you want to help New Hampshire youth build relationships, develop character, discover their strengths, and grow into confident young leaders, we'd love to hear from you.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Overview:The Assistant Director of Programs and Camps is a key member of Circle Program's program leadership team and works closely with the Director of Programs and Camps to provide high-quality, mission-driven experiences for girls and teens throughout the year.The ideal candidate enjoys both planning and direct program delivery and is comfortable building trusted relationships with girls, families, mentors, staff, volunteers, and community partners.This is a full-time, year-round position based in Plymouth and Groton, New Hampshire.During the school year, the position includes regular weekday hours as well as scheduled evenings and weekends for programs and special activities. Develop engaging, age-appropriate activities that support Circle's mission and character education priorities of Self-Regulation, Gratitude, and Leadership.Coordinate program schedules, locations, transportation, meals, supplies, volunteers, and community partners.Maintain consistent communication and strong relationships with participants and families.Build community partnerships and create meaningful service and leadership opportunities for girls and teens.Track participation and help evaluate programs to strengthen future experiences.Mentoring ProgramWork collaboratively with Circle's part-time Mentor Coordinator to strengthen mentoring relationships.Assist with mentor recruitment, orientation, training, communication, and engagement.Help maintain strong communication among participants, families, mentors, and Circle staff.Summer Camp LeadershipDuring the summer, the Assistant Director serves as a key member of Circle Camp's residential leadership team and works directly alongside the Director of Programs and Camps.Assist with camp planning, preparation, daily operations, and post-season evaluation.Help recruit, train, supervise, coach, and support seasonal camp staff.Help oversee daily schedules, activities, field trips, transportation, and program logistics.Be highly visible and actively engaged in the daily life of camp.Support campers and staff with behavior, conflict resolution, homesickness, and other challenges.Help maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging camp environment.Communicate with parents and guardians when needed.Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, changing circumstances, and unexpected situations.Serve as a primary program leadership partner to the Director of Programs and Camps throughout the summer.Program & Organizational SupportMaintain accurate program records, attendance, participant information, and required documentation.Assist with program evaluation, outcome measurement, and grant-related data collection.Help monitor program expenses and work within approved budgets.Provide program stories, outcomes, and information for grants, reports, fundraising, newsletters, and community communications.Participate in program team meetings, organizational planning, special events, and fundraising activities.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in youth development, education, recreation, social work, human services, nonprofit management, outdoor education, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.Three or more years of professional experience working with children and teens.Previous residential summer camp experience strongly preferred.Experience planning and facilitating youth programs.Experience supervising, coaching, or supporting staff and volunteers preferred.Strong organizational, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and logistical details.Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment in challenging situations.A positive, flexible, dependable, and collaborative approach.A strong commitment to creating physically and emotionally safe environments for young people.POSITION REQUIREMENTSValid driver's license and ability to meet Circle Program's driving requirements.Ability and willingness to transport participants as needed.Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.Successful completion of required background checks.Current Wilderness First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification. Circle programs extend beyond traditional business hours; the successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. This typically includes approximately two to three weekend days monthly during the school year and more frequent weekend commitments during the six-week summer camp season, as determined by the Director and Assistant Director schedules. Evening responsibilities during summer camp are required and will be coordinated by the Executive Director, Director of Programs and Camps and the Assistant Director of Programs and Camps.
