Join us to advance our mission and shape your future with us today!Learn more about GovTech at tech.gov.sg.[What you will be working on]We are looking for an Assistant Director, Engineering Management (Platform Infrastructure), to drive the engineering, automation, resiliency, and operational maturity of critical infrastructure platforms supporting large-scale digital services.The role will provide technical leadership across cloud platforms, Kubernetes, automation, observability, and infrastructure reliability initiatives. The Engineering Manager will guide engineering standards, mentor engineers, drive platform modernisation, and partner with stakeholders across infrastructure, security, operations, and application teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and engineering of scalable, secure, and resilient platform infrastructureDefine and drive platform engineering standards, automation strategy, and operational best practicesLead Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, observability, and platform modernisation initiativesDrive resiliency improvements including failover readiness, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and operational health standardsArchitect and support Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native infrastructure capabilitiesLead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production platform incidentsDrive reduction of operational toil through automation and standardisationPartner with security teams on vulnerability remediation, hardening, compliance, and governance requirementsWork closely with application teams to improve operational readiness and cloud-native adoptionMentor and guide engineers across platforms, infrastructure, and automation domainsSupport strategic planning, technical roadmap development, and platform capability upliftDrive technical governance and operational accountability across vendor-supported infrastructure operations, remediation activities, platform enhancements and operational incidentsEngage stakeholders across the agency and internal engineering teams[What we are looking for]RequirementsDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fieldStrong experience in infrastructure/platform engineering and cloud operationsDeep hands-on expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure automationStrong experience with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps practicesExperience designing and operating observability and monitoring platformsStrong understanding of resiliency engineering, SRE concepts, and production operationsExperience leading complex infrastructure transformation or modernisation initiativesStrong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skillsExperience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standardsExposure to AI-assisted operations, observability, automation or infrastructure engineering workflowsPreferred SkillsExperience in healthcare, government, or regulated environmentsExperience operating large-scale hybrid cloud platformsCloud professional certificationsExposure to chaos engineering, reliability engineering, or platform product modelsWhat we offer you: GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe that diversity is the foundation to innovation.   Our employee benefits are based on a total rewards approach, offering a holistic and market-competitive suite of perks.
