Job PurposeThe Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the Rent a Car business unit, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budget control, and compliance with accounting standards and UAE tax regulations. This role acts as a bridge between the accounting team and finance leadership, ensuring timely and reliable financial information to support operational and strategic decisions.Key Duties:MonthlyReview and consolidate monthly financial statements prepared by the accounting team, ensuring accuracy prior to submission to the Finance Manager.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management presentations.Support the annual and periodic budgeting process, consolidating departmental inputs and monitoring budget vs. actual variances.Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.Review VAT and Corporate Tax filings prepared by the accounting team prior to submission, ensuring compliance with UAE tax laws.Monitor fleet-related financial metrics (vehicle depreciation, residual values, insurance costs, fleet utilization revenue) and report findings to the Finance Manager.WeeklyReview financial analysis prepared by the accounting team, identifying trends, variances, and areas requiring management attention.Ensure all financial statements and reconciliations comply with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.Oversee reconciliation of General Ledger and intercompany accounts, resolving discrepancies escalated by the accounting team.Review aging reports for receivables (rental income, corporate leasing accounts) and payables, ensuring timely follow-up.DailyMonitor daily cash flow and fund position, escalating liquidity concerns to the Finance Manager.Review daily fund flow statements prepared by the accounting team.Act as the first point of escalation for financial queries from clients, vendors, and other departments.Support and review daily reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor accounts, and rental fleet-related accounts.Guide and mentor the accounting team on transaction processing and accounting treatment.Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:Operates under the supervision of the Finance Manager, with delegated authority to review and approve routine financial transactions, reconciliations, and reports prepared by the accounting team. Escalates matters involving significant financial exposure, policy exceptions, or strategic implications to the Finance Manager.Knowledge:Strong knowledge of IFRS and other financial reporting standards.Working knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and related compliance requirements.Understanding of fleet/rental industry financial dynamics (vehicle depreciation, leasing, residual values) is an advantage.Skills:Accounting & Finance ManagementInternal & External Audit CoordinationMS Office, ERP Systems, IAS & IFRSVAT Filing & Tax ComplianceBudgeting & ForecastingTeam Supervision & ReviewCompetencies:Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial analysis, and tax regulations, with proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to interpret financial data to support decision-making.Ability to lead and develop a small accounting team while managing multiple priorities under deadlines.Qualification & Experience:Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.Experience within the automotive, rent-a-car, or dealership industry is preferred.
