Assistant General Manager

SHG operates 113 properties in 26 countries with a commitment to deliver authentic and diverse hospitality experiences that bring people together, all around the world.We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join SUSHISAMBA Abu Dhabi, located at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, is a vibrant lifestyle dining destination bringing together the rich culinary influences of Japan, Brazil, and Peru.This role requires a hands-on, dynamic hospitality leader with strong operational and commercial expertise, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume lifestyle dining environment and can inspire teams while delivering the energy and service excellence of the SUSHISAMBA brandKey Responsibilities:Support the General Manager in managing the overall daily operations of the restaurant.Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the FOH team to consistently deliver exceptional service.Maintain a strong presence on the floor and ensure an outstanding guest experience throughout the venue.Drive operational excellence while maintaining brand and service standards.Support the achievement of revenue, profitability, and other key operational targets.Monitor labor costs, productivity, expenses, and other controllable costs.Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, P&L reviews, and overall commercial performance.Manage VIP guests, guest feedback, and service recovery professionally and effectively.Work closely with Culinary, Bar, Reservations, Marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning for the team.Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and operational procedures.Ideal Candidate:Minimum 5 years of progressive F&B management experience, with recent experience as an Assistant General Manager role.Strong background in premium/luxury lifestyle dining, high-end restaurants, or internationally recognized restaurant concepts.Proven experience managing high-volume, fast-paced operations and large multicultural teams.Strong commercial acumen with good understanding of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, cost control, and revenue optimization.Excellent knowledge of luxury service standards and guest experience.Confident handling VIP clientele, challenging guest situations, and service recovery.Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and people-management skills.Highly energetic, hands-on, commercially driven, and comfortable working in an experience-led lifestyle environment.Experience in the UAE/GCC market is preferred, with recent strong international lifestyle dining experience is highly preferred.Excellent command of English; additional European language skills are highly preferred.
