Assistant General Manager – Procurement (Steel / Mining / Metals / Heavy Industry)Location: GurugramWork Model: In-office | 5 days a weekExperience: 15–22 yearsEmployment: Full-timeAbout the OpportunityWe are a recruitment agency hiring for a leading global manufacturing and industrial group for a senior procurement leadership position in its India operations.The role will lead strategic procurement, sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations and cost optimisation across a large-scale heavy-industry environment.What You'll DoLead strategic procurement and sourcing across materials, equipment and services.Develop procurement strategies aligned with business and project requirements.Manage strategic suppliers and drive vendor development.Lead commercial negotiations and deliver measurable cost savings.Manage purchase contracts, commercial terms and supplier performance.Drive alternate sourcing and supply-risk mitigation.Manage procurement budgets, savings and key procurement KPIs.Partner with Projects, Operations, Finance, Stores and Engineering.Ensure procurement governance, compliance and process excellence.Lead and mentor the procurement team.What We're Looking For15+ years of overall procurement experience.7+ years of recent experience in Steel, Mining, Metals or related heavy industry.Strong experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, negotiations and cost reduction.Experience handling large-value procurement and complex supplier ecosystems.Strong exposure to CapEx, MRO, plant procurement and commercial contracts.Proven track record of delivering measurable procurement savings.Experience leading and mentoring procurement teams.Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.B.Tech/B.E. is mandatory.Candidates currently at Senior Manager / DGM / AGM / Procurement Head / Strategic Sourcing levels are encouraged to apply.Note: We are an agency managing the recruitment for this position.
