Apply & track with Apply EdgeTitle: Assistant Manager, AML Quality Assurance Location: DubaiAbout the ClientOur client is a leading banking group seeking an Assistant Manager, AML Quality Assurance to provide independent assurance over the Bank's compliance with AML-CFT, Sanctions and Counter-Proliferation Financing obligations. The role will design and execute testing across key financial crime controls, working closely with the Head of AML and senior stakeholders to strengthen the control environment and regulatory readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver an annual quality assurance testing plan covering AML Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, KYC/CDD/EDD, compliance systems and regulatory reporting, for sign-off by senior leadership.Report testing outcomes and control gaps through management committees and periodic MIS, ensuring timely remediation and staff feedback/training where needed.Recommend enhancements to the control framework based on testing results and emerging regulatory developments.Conduct Risk-Control Self-Assessments in line with the Bank's operational risk standards, and support gap analysis or ad hoc regulatory requests.Coordinate with Group AML-CFT function on quality assurance exercises and contribute to the design, delivery and tracking of AML-CFT training.Support the Head of AML/MLRO in maintaining AML-CFT, Sanctions and CPF policies aligned to regulatory expectations and group standards.Key RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent; a postgraduate qualification, CA/CFA, or certification such as CAMS is an advantage.5–7+ years' relevant experience in AML Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, KYC/CDD/EDD, compliance systems or quality assurance within a regulated banking environment.Strong knowledge of the UAE AML-CFT, Sanctions and Proliferation Financing regulatory framework, along with relevant compliance/control systems.Proven ability in risk identification, control testing, reporting and remedial action planning.Excellent attention to detail, with a control-oriented and digitally-minded approach to simplifying complex processes.Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to plan, organize and manage testing execution independently.
