If you resonate with our culture and want to be part of an aggressively scaling, consumer-first brand, we’d love to have you join us.Role SummaryWe are looking for an Assistant Manager – Business Finance to sit within the Marketplace team and act as the financial backbone for marketplace operations. This role owns the numbers behind every marketplace transaction — reconciliation, payouts, fees, and cash flow — while acting as the primary bridge between the Marketplace team and Central Finance on compliance, reporting, and fund coordination. The ideal candidate combines sharp analytical skills with a genuine curiosity about how marketplace settlement mechanics work end-to-end.Key ResponsibilitiesMarketplace Reconciliation & ReportingOwn in-depth reconciliation of marketplace payouts against order-level data — sales, returns, commissions, shipping fees, penalties, and other deductions — across all marketplace platforms.Investigate and resolve reconciliation mismatches (short payments, delayed settlements, incorrect deductions) by working directly with marketplace back-offices/finance panels.Build and maintain channel-wise reconciliation trackers and dashboards for management visibility.Analyze fee structures (commission slabs, payment gateway charges, logistics fees) and flag cost trends or anomalies to the Marketplace Lead.Central Finance CoordinationAct as the single point of contact between Marketplace and Central Finance for all compliance requirements — GST on marketplace transactions, TCS/TDS reconciliation, e-invoicing, and other statutory needs specific to marketplace sales.Coordinate cash flow planning with Central Finance: track expected settlement cycles by platform, flag delays, and support working capital visibility for the marketplace business.Support monthly/quarterly closing by providing accurate marketplace revenue, deduction, and receivable data to Central Finance.Ensure marketplace-related ledgers (receivables, provisions, chargebacks) are clean and audit-ready.Prepare and circulate the monthly Marketplace MIS — channel-wise revenue, reconciliation status, deductions/fees breakup, receivables ageing, and key variances — to Marketplace and Finance leadership on a fixed monthly cadence.Business Support & AnalysisPartner with the Marketplace category/channel teams to explain margin impact of platform fee changes or scheme costs.Support projections and business planning inputs (revenue, receivables, working capital needs) from a finance lens.Identify process gaps in reconciliation or payout tracking and drive automation/standardization where possible.ComplianceEnsure marketplace transactions comply with internal finance policies and statutory requirements.Support internal/external audits with documentation and clarifications related to marketplace finance.Required Qualifications & Experience3–6 years of experience in business finance, revenue accounting, or marketplace/e-commerce reconciliation.Strong hands-on experience with marketplace reconciliation — understands how settlement reports work, how commissions/fees/TCS are deducted, and how to trace discrepancies to root cause.Solid working knowledge of GST, TCS/TDS as applicable to e-commerce/marketplace transactions.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large dataset handling); comfort with ERP/accounting systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Ability to work cross-functionally with both finance and business/marketplace teams, and comfortable coordinating with multiple external stakeholders (marketplace finance/support teams).Good to HaveExposure to international marketplaces or cross-border transactions (e.g., Amazon US/UAE/SA, Noon, Namshi, Ounass) — understanding of export documentation, foreign currency settlements, and cross-border tax/compliance nuances.Experience with licensed IP/branded merchandise businesses and associated compliance considerations.Prior experience in a D2C/fashion/lifestyle e-commerce environment.CA (Inter)/CMA/MBA Finance background is a plus, though not mandatory if practical experience is strong.What Success Looks LikeMarketplace reconciliation gaps identified and closed within defined TAT.Zero surprises on marketplace-related compliance during closing or audits.Cash flow visibility on marketplace settlements shared proactively with Central Finance, reducing last-minute funding gaps.Trusted point of contact for both Marketplace and Central Finance teams on all transaction-level finance queries.
