Proximo Spirits is a leading and innovative supplier in the Spirits industry with a portfolio of iconic Premium and Super Premium brands.About the RoleWe're looking for someone to join our Insights team who can take category, consumer, and depletions data and turn it into something the business can actually use. You'll work closely with Brand Marketing, Field Sales, and our Executive team, and your analysis will regularly end up in front of our CEO.This position utilizes a combination of specialized skills incorporating Beverage Alcohol Syndicated Data, Category Management Discipline, and Analytics Acumen with the objective to provide a comprehensive understanding and identification of channel, outlet, and consumer opportunities to drive brand growth and equity.What you’ll be doingPulling insight out of Nielsen, NABCA, SipSource, VIP depletions and distribution data to explain what's driving brand performance, and what's threatening it.Serving as the analytics partner for brand and sales leadership. The goal is that they come to you to think through a problem, not to send you a request.Building the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting the commercial and marketing organization runs on, and improving it as you go.Spotting emerging consumption trends, white space, and shifts in consumer behavior early enough that we can do something about them.What we're looking forThree or more years in analytics, insights, category management, or a similar commercial role where you worked with data every day.Advanced Excel and Powerpoint. You will live in both. Excel means pivot tables, lookups, and real comfort restructuring large, messy datasets. PowerPoint means building an executive-ready deck yourself, from blank slide to something a CEO can act on.Comfort with large datasets and an understanding of how data is structured and managed. SQL or a BI tool like Tableau or Power BI helps, but we'll train you if you don't have it.The habit of asking "so what?" until the answer is genuinely useful.The ability to turn complex analysis into clear, compelling recommendations that people act on. Storytelling with data is most of this job.Who does well on this teamPeople who are genuinely curious and treat a messy problem as an opportunity for growth and improvement. We are a small, flat group. Good ideas move fast regardless of whose they are, and nobody here has time for ego.Key RelationshipsInternal: Business Intelligence, Finance, Field Sales, Marketing, ELT (Executive Leadership Team)External: Distributor PartnersDesired Experience, Knowledge, and CharacteristicsBachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Statistics, and Economics).Minimum 3+ years in Spirits or CPG industry, in the areas of Category Management, Market Research, or Market/Pricing/Data AnalyticsWorking knowledge and experience with Spirits or Retail syndicated resource information and applications (Nielsen, NABCA, IRI, Numerator, VIP, etc.)Strong knowledge of data manipulation, database design, foundational data analytics and data platform structures; ability to manage large data sets & databasesExperience with dashboarding software (Tableau, PowerBI, Sigma, Looker, etc.) preferredFamiliarity with Database Management (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Access, etc.)Advanced Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint ProficiencyAbility to travel as needed and willingness to work in the Jersey City, NJ office three/ four days per week.The salary range for this role is a base salary of $89,300 - $105,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location.
