Assistant Manager, Compliance

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Manager, Compliance to safeguard our institution's operations and reputation. In this role, you will be key in executing anti-money laundering controls, conducting customer due diligence, advising business units on regulatory updates, and supporting overarching compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

AML & Due Diligence OversightPerform transaction monitoring and investigate suspicious transactions related to AML/CFT and sanctions.Conduct Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for customer onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events.Prepare risk assessment and due diligence reports for internal management review.Regulatory Compliance & Operational SupportMonitor regulatory developments, disseminate circulars (SFC, DPB, HKAB, etc.), and advise on updating policies and guidelines.Collaborate with internal business units on compliance areas, including CoBP, Deposit Protection Scheme, FATCA/CRS, and PDPO.Develop compliance training, coordinate review projects and surveys, and assist with ad hoc tasks.Skills & Experience We Are Looking For:Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, or Audit within banking or financial institutions.Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) qualification for Banking Practitioners is preferred.Solid knowledge of HKMA/SFC regulations, AML/CFT frameworks, Code of Banking Practice, FATCA/CRS, and PDPO.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.Comprehensive understanding of banking operations is a distinct advantage.Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.Candidates with more experience may be considered for the Manager role.For more job opportunities, please go to HLB Careers: https://hlb.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/HLBCareers/We appreciate your application and will be in touch with shortlisted candidates regarding next steps
