Apply & track with Apply EdgeWorking with the Head of Compliance, develop and implement an effective compliance framework which supports the needs of the business on an ongoing basis.Supporting the business by providing specialist, high quality, accurate and timely, regulatory advice and guidance, with a particular emphasis on HK Insurance Authority regulatory requirements, including conduct risk considerations, across the HK regulated businesses.Provide a Business Unit view of compliance activities in order to develop synergies, high quality compliance and drive consistency where appropriate. Working with the business to ensure that there are appropriate systems and controls in place to meet Bupa's, and our regulators' expectations.Provide effective challenge to the business and identifying and escalating risks and issues, working with colleagues in the team and across the business to provide practical, pragmatic solutions to help the business move forward.Promote a robust and effective conduct and compliance culture across the HK Insurance Authority's regulated entities.ResponsibilitiesCompliance framework, governance and reporting: Support the delivery and ongoing maintenance of the compliance framework; identify compliance obligations, assess associated risks and oversee relevant business controls; maintain governance documents, procedures and supporting records; and prepare Risk Committee, management and Group reporting on regulatory developments, incidents, assurance findings, remediation progress and emerging risks.Business, product and customer advisory: Review marketing materials, promotional initiatives, customer communications, product launches, enhancements and proposition changes; advise on conduct risk and fair customer outcomes; partner with designated business initiatives to identify, assess, manage, document and escalate risks; and review complaints to identify themes, control gaps and sustainable improvements.Regulatory engagement and change: Coordinate regulatory responses, evidence and documentation; track commitments and follow-up actions; identify and monitor relevant regulatory developments; assess their business impact; and support stakeholders in implementing required changes.Financial crime: Conduct financial crime checks and due diligence; clear sanctions screening alerts within required turnaround times; and advise on escalations arising from pre-onboarding screening and other financial crime concerns.Intermediary oversight: Oversee insurance intermediary and agent governance, including broker onboarding documentation and related governance requirements.Monitoring, assurance and incident management: Perform compliance Control Self-Assessments and compliance testing; assist with assurance programmes and control-effectiveness reviews, including follow-up of identified issues and actions; and support incident management through timely escalation, root cause assessment, remediation oversight and appropriate documentation of decisions and closure evidence.Training and communications: Support the design, coordination and delivery of compliance training and communications, including anti-bribery and corruption learning for leaders and employees, in collaboration with the People and APAC Learning teams.RequirementsBachelor or Master Degree. In-depth knowledge of both regulatory and conduct compliance frameworks and practices internationally and in Hong Kong. Highly organized, results driven self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.Fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese with ability to present articulately with appropriate level of gravitas. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the financial regulatory compliance field (preferably within the insurance industry) in a similar compliance role. Strong knowledge of commercial compliance obligations in Hong Kong.
