Assistant Manager Finance

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing company with operations in Malaysia and an international presence. As part of its continued business growth, the company is looking for an experienced finance professional to join its team as an Assistant Finance Manager.Role OverviewThis role will support the Finance Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations for the business. The position covers financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, inventory, cash flow, banking matters and statutory compliance.The successful candidate will also work closely with the operations team on inventory costing and stock management, while supporting the finance team in ensuring smooth and accurate day-to-day financial operations.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and review finance and accounting operations, including AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, inventory, cash flow and financial reportingPrepare and review financial statements and management reports, including commentary and analysis of company performanceManage and liaise with bankers on finance-related matters, including hedging, trade line utilisation and inward/outward remittancesMonitor inventory costing and lead inventory counts, working closely with operations teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepanciesCoordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirementsAssist the Finance Manager in managing and developing the finance team to ensure daily operations are completed efficiently and accuratelySupport financial planning, analysis and other finance-related initiatives as requiredLiaise with overseas subsidiaries and internal stakeholders on finance and accounting mattersPerform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Finance ManagerKey RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineIdeally 6 – 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of full-set accounting, financial reporting, inventory and costingExperience in managing banking relationships and exposure to hedging and trade finance would be advantageousStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detailPositive, proactive and solutions-oriented mindsetAble to work well in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organisationGood command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate with overseas subsidiariesAble to work independently while supporting and collaborating closely with the Finance Manager and wider businessWhy JoinOpportunity to take on a broad Assistant Finance Manager role within an established manufacturing businessExposure across financial accounting, inventory, banking, reporting and commercial operationsOpportunity to work closely with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholdersInternational exposure through collaboration with overseas subsidiariesStrong platform to further develop your finance leadership and people management experiencePlease contact Teresa by emailing your CV directly in word format with job reference no JOB-16649 to Teresa@theedgepartnership.comPlease note that due to the high number of applications only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
