Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Purpose:The Assistant Manager will support the day-to-day operations of the accounting and tax practice, ensuring exceptional client service, efficient internal processes, and strong financial oversight. This role blends leadership, analytical thinking, and operational management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both people management and hands-on financial work.The Shared Service Center forms part of the overall IFZA ecosystem, supporting licensees with accounting and tax compliance support. The department is a growing department, with the ideal candidate identifying a need for controls, providing suggestions and implementing this with a strong skill of being organized to ensure that they have a good grip on any issues, deadlines and tracking within the different teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client ManagementServe as a primary point of contact for client escalations, ensuring timely communication and high-quality service delivery.Coordinate the preparation and review of specific accounting reports, tax filings, and compliance documents.Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong, long-term relationships.Support onboarding of new clientsProcess Improvement & Operational EfficiencyEvaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes.Implement best practices in documentation, reporting, and client communication.Support the adoption of new technologies, accounting tools, and automation initiatives.Keep up to date with accounting and tax developments to ensure the team is properly equipped with thisTeam Leadership & CoordinationSupervise juniors (Team Leaders, Accountants) and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Allocate workloads, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met across accounting and tax projects.Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented team culture.Financial Tracking & Invoicing Oversee invoicing cycles, ensuring accuracy, timely issuance, and proper follow up on outstanding payments.Track project budgets, internal costs, and revenue forecasts to support financial planning.Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial performance reports for management.Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure all accounting and tax work adheres to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.Support audits and maintain accurate, organized records.Stay updated on relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and industry changes.Identify any control deficiencies and propose changesLiaison for cross departmental work Working with different departments within the wider organization to deliver specific projectsSupporting the wider IFZA Organization with ad-hoc requests, related to accounting and tax.Required Qualifications:Professional accounting qualification (from a recognized accounting body) ACCA/CA;Degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum 7-8 years’ accounting experienceMinimum 2 years’ management experience desiredShould have good exposure to IFRS
