Assistant Manager - Financial Services (Accounts Payable)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to lead Accounts Payable (AP) and Finance Operations within a dynamic business environment. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong leadership capabilities, hands-on SAP experience, and extensive exposure to high-volume invoice and payment processing.The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee Accounts Payable and Finance Operations functions.Manage end-to-end accounts payable activities, including high-volume invoice processing and payment execution.Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, supplier payments, reconciliations, and related transactions.Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members to achieve operational targets and service excellence.Monitor performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Manage client queries, escalations, and issue resolution in a timely and professional manner.Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies across finance functions.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls.Stay up to date with Sri Lankan Inland Revenue regulations and ensure adherence to relevant tax requirements.Candidate RequirementsExperienceMinimum 6 years of experience in Accounting and Finance, with significant exposure to Accounts Payable operations.Proven experience managing high-volume invoice processing and payment operations.Hands-on experience working with SAP systems is mandatory.Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of 10–15 members or more.Experience handling client-facing finance operations and stakeholder management activities.QualificationsFully qualified CA, ACCA, or CIMA professional.A Master's degree or currently pursuing a Master's degree will be an added advantage.Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and Finance Operations.Extensive knowledge of Sri Lankan taxation, Inland Revenue regulations, and related compliance requirements.Experience in SAP-based finance environments.Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.Key CompetenciesLeadership and people management skills.Stakeholder and client relationship management.Communication and interpersonal skills.Process improvement and operational excellence mindset.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Preferred Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a fully qualified finance professional with strong SAP expertise, substantial Accounts Payable experience, proven success in managing large teams, and a thorough understanding of Sri Lankan tax and regulatory requirements.
