Position PurposeAs a key member of the Global Markets P&L team, the Assistant Manager will support the Prime Brokerage business across Asia, Europe, and New York. This role focuses on the daily production and detailed "explanation" of P&L for dedicated trading desks in New York. The successful candidate will act as a critical bridge between the Front Office and support functions (Risk, Finance, IT, and Trade Support), ensuring accurate revenue reporting, robust control environments, and deep understanding of P&L drivers.ResponsibilitiesP&L Management & AttributionDaily/Monthly Revenue Control: Prepare and supervise monthly management revenues for the MBS desk, ensuring precise reconciliation with trader estimates and financial accounts.MBS P&L Attribution: Perform detailed analysis of daily P&L, providing breakdowns of key drivers, including interest rate sensitivity, credit spreads, and prepayment/extension risks.Reconciliation & Resolution: Reconcile P&L to Front Office estimates and resolve PV (Present Value) breaks between client/counterparty settlements and P&L control estimates.Ledger Integrity: Resolve Back Office ledger vs. P&L system cash breaks daily and ensure Month-to-Date (MTD) management P&Ls align with final Month-End General Ledger totals.Risk, Control & CompliancePricing & Control: Ensure pricing configurations comply with trading strategies and internal controls; collaborate with Valuation & Risk Control (V&RC) to maintain consistency.Risk Partnership: Work closely with Market Risk to validate MAP (Model Adjustment Provisions) and Reserves; evaluate and explain significant cash/PV movements that exceed established thresholds.Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in business development and process improvement initiatives to enhance control frameworks and operational efficiencies.Project Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementSystems Deployment: Lead new system implementations, including requirement gathering, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and reporting impact analysis.Front Office Liaison: Act as a proactive partner to the trading floor, resolving booking issues and operational inquiries promptly.Team Development: Assist in the training, mentorship, and professional development of junior analystsRequired Education, Skills and Experience (Must‑have)Experience: 4–8 years of professional experience in Product Control, P&L Control, Finance, or Trade Support.Product Expertise: Minimum 2+ years of direct experience controlling Equity products and Prime Brokerage activities.Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of P&L Attribution and Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Vega, Theta).Analytical Ability: Proven experience in reconciling complex P&L to Front Office estimates and resolving PV/Cash breaks.Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Core Tools: Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in navigating complex financial systems. Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (Nice‑to‑have)Professional Certifications: CA, CFA, or FRM designation.nderstanding of Prepayment Risk, Convexity, and OAS (Option Adjusted Spread) modeling.Systems Experience: Experience with industry-standard platforms (e.g., Murex, Calypso) or leading UAT/System implementation projects.Global Exposure: Experience supporting New York or EMEA trading desks within a "split-team" or "follow-the-sun" organizational model.BNP Paribas India Solutions – A wholly‑owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA, created in 2005.
