Assistant Manager - Nursery

Join a results-driven environment where your expertise contributes to maintaining quality, safety and operational excellence across the UAE.Role Description: Nursery Assistant Manager responsible to manage and supervise daily nursery production activities, ensuring healthy plant growth, efficient use of resources, timely production, and availability of plants as per project and operational requirements. The role involves supervising nursery staff, monitoring work quality, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing the day-to-day nursery production and plantation operations, ensuring activities are carried out as per approved plans and schedules.Supervise and manage nursery staff, including nursery supervisors, gardeners, irrigation technicians, general workers, and other production personnel.Plan and monitor plant propagation, planting, transplanting, potting, pruning, watering, fertilization, and plant maintenance activities.Plan and allocate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, irrigation resources, and other requirements for daily nursery operations.Monitor and maintain proper irrigation and watering schedules according to plant requirements and seasonal conditions.Ensure proper application and safe handling of fertilizers, pesticides, soil treatments, and other agricultural materials.Conduct regular inspections of nursery areas to identify plant diseases, pest infestation, poor growth, damaged plants, irrigation issues, and other concerns, and arrange corrective actions.Monitor plant inventory, including plant varieties, quantities, production, mortality, wastage, transfers, and dispatches.Coordinate with the Store Keeper, Procurement, Landscaping, Irrigation, and Operations teams to ensure timely availability of required materials and resources.Monitor the performance of nursery staff and ensure that daily tasks and production targets are completed as planned.Maintain and update records related to plant production, manpower, materials, irrigation, fertilizers, pesticides, and nursery activities.Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, including progress, plant stock, manpower utilization, and operational issues.Ensure all nursery activities comply with HSE requirements, company procedures, environmental requirements, and approved operational standards.Assist in managing the nursery budget, monitoring material consumption, manpower costs, wastage, and other operational expenses to support cost control.Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for nursery production and ensure consistent working practices.Support the Manager in achieving production targets, quality standards, manpower efficiency, resource utilization, and overall nursery performance.

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of experience in nursery management within the GCC.Proven experience in managing nursery operations and supervising a team.Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.Good knowledge of plant care, nursery operations, and health and safety regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant nursery or facilities management software.
