Assistant Manager - Procurement (Manufacturing)A well‑established manufacturing organisation is seeking an Assistant Manager - Procurement to support end‑to‑end purchasing operations and ensure uninterrupted supply to production. This role is ideal for a hands‑on procurement professional with strong execution, supplier management, and cost control experience.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily purchasing operations including PR review, PO issuance, expediting, and delivery follow‑upEnsure continuity of supply and prevent material shortages in a short lead‑time manufacturing environmentWork closely with suppliers to monitor and improve delivery performance, quality, responsiveness, and costSupport price negotiations, cost‑down initiatives, and purchase price variance (PPV) trackingCollaborate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to align procurement with demandSupport RFQs, sourcing activities, NPI, and BOM changes including alternate part qualificationMonitor inventory levels to minimise excess, obsolete stock, and expediting costsEnsure procurement activities comply with internal policies, approval matrices, and audit requirementsGuide and support Buyers / Purchasing Executives in daily executionAct as a backup to the Purchasing Manager when requiredKey RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline5-8 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environmentStrong experience managing suppliers locally and/or internationallyProven exposure to expediting, shortage management, and production supportFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)Solid negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAnalytical mindset with a focus on cost, delivery, and performance metricsComfortable operating in a fast‑paced, operationally demanding environmentWhat's on OfferOpportunity to play a critical role in supporting manufacturing continuityExposure to cross‑functional collaboration and supplier negotiationsCareer progression within a stable and established organisationCompetitive remuneration and benefits packageJTK Number: JTKSM 995 | Company Registration Number: 201301019088 (1048918-T)
