Assistant Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for an Assistant Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team in Malaysia and support the development, improvement, and successful production of our productsIn this role, you will provide day-to-day engineering support to production, improve product manufacturability, and help resolve technical and manufacturing issues from design through production. You will work closely with operators, technicians, engineers, suppliers, and overseas engineering teams to deliver practical solutions and drive continuous improvementThis is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to build hands-on manufacturing experience, strengthen technical problem-solving skills, and grow their career in a dynamic and technology-driven manufacturing environmentResponsibilitiesSupport product development activities from design through production release, ensuring engineering requirements are effectively translated into manufacturingReview product designs, drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to identify opportunities for improved manufacturabilityProvide day-to-day engineering support to production and troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing-related issuesInvestigate production and quality issues, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive actionsPrepare and maintain engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and other manufacturing documentationSupport manufacturing capability assessments, alternative part evaluations, and component compatibility reviewsCollaborate with suppliers and internal teams on new product introduction, supplier qualification, and outsourced manufacturing activitiesDrive continuous improvement projects to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and production cycle timeWork closely with operators, technicians, engineers, and overseas engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement practical solutionsSupport ISO 9001 activities, including FMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, Work Instructions, and other required engineering documentationMonitor engineering and manufacturing performance metrics and support the preparation of regular engineering reportsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining, CNC Engineering, or a related engineering disciplineMinimum 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Fresh graduates with relevant engineering qualifications and internship experience are encouraged to applyBasic knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD/design softwareAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering specificationsBasic understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical components, and engineering principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving production issuesGood communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with production operators, technicians, engineers, and suppliersGood command of spoken and written English and Bahasa MalaysiaWillingness to learn, take ownership, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWhy Join Ichor?
