The location offers convenient access to major cities including Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C., expanding opportunities for clinical partnerships, research, and professional development.Role Description The Assistant or Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is a full-time, on-site faculty role based in Philadelphia, PA. The individual in this role will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in speech-language pathology and related disciplines, using evidence-based and inclusive teaching practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing course materials, delivering lectures, leading seminars and labs, supervising student clinical experiences, advising students, and assessing learning outcomes. The faculty member will engage in scholarly or clinical research, participate in curriculum development, and collaborate with colleagues to advance the SLP program. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, university, and professional community, such as committee work, accreditation activities, and outreach to clinical partners.QualificationsWe are specifically looking for candidates with expertise in swallowing, voice, and motor speech disorders.Advanced knowledge of speech-language pathology, including assessment, intervention, and clinical supervision in diverse practice settings.Experience or training in university-level teaching, curriculum design, and use of evidence-based instructional strategies.Strong skills in academic writing, research design, data analysis, and dissemination of scholarly or clinical work.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, colleagues, and clinical partners, both orally and in writing.Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive education and the ability to support learners of varied backgrounds and abilities.Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; doctorate (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field preferred or in progress.Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and certification or eligibility for certification by ASHA (CCC-SLP).Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary academic and clinical team and engage in departmental and university service.Interest in contributing to program growth, accreditation efforts, and partnerships with healthcare and community organizations.
