Team members work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with opportunities to support continuous growth and innovation in online retail.Role Description The Assistant Procurement Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo, supporting end-to-end procurement activities for imported gourmet products. This role involves assisting with supplier sourcing and evaluation, preparing and managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The Assistant Procurement Manager will help negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, track inventory needs, and ensure timely replenishment to meet demand. The role includes close collaboration with operations, finance, and logistics teams to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines. The position also requires regular market research on products and pricing, as well as contributing to process improvements within the procurement function.QualificationsCandidates should possess skills in Procurement and Analytical Skills to manage purchasing activities, assess data, and support decision-making.Candidates should possess skills in Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation to identify reliable suppliers and secure favorable terms.Candidates should possess skills in Contract Management to oversee agreements, ensure compliance, and maintain accurate documentation.Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.Candidates should have good organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, and prior experience in procurement or retail/FMCG, would be beneficial.Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with procurement or ERP systems would be an advantage.
