Job Title: Assistant Professor – B.Com (Commerce)Location: Patiala (Punjab)Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RolePWDU is seeking passionate and qualified Assistant Professors – B.Com to develop and deliver high-quality academic content for undergraduate Commerce programmes within a technology-enabled, UGC-compliant Open & Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Education framework.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and update curriculum, Self-Learning Materials (SLMs), e-content, video lectures, assessments, and learning resources for B.Com subjects.Deliver courses through the Learning Management System (LMS) and conduct engaging live online classes.Design and evaluate assignments, quizzes, continuous assessments, and examinations.Mentor students, resolve academic queries, and moderate discussion forums.Collaborate with Course Mentors, SMEs, and faculty for effective course delivery.Ensure academic quality, originality, and compliance with UGC ODL Regulations and NEP 2020.Maintain course records, monitor learner progress, and recommend curriculum improvements.Eligibility CriteriaMaster's Degree (M.Com) in Commerce from a recognised university.NET qualified (preferred); Ph.D. in Commerce or a related discipline will be an added advantage.Prior teaching, curriculum development, or online education experience is preferred.Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital teaching platforms is desirable.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of Commerce subjects, including Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Law, Economics, and Management.Excellent academic writing, content development, presentation, and communication skills.Familiarity with UGC ODL Regulations, NEP 2020, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE).Strong analytical, mentoring, and organisational abilities.Additional RequirementsExperience teaching B.Com/Commerce courses through online or blended learning.Proficiency in LMS, AI-enabled teaching tools, and digital-first pedagogy.Ability to develop industry-relevant SLMs, e-content, and assessments.Commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student-centric learning.Interested candidates can mail us at manvi.bajaj@pw.live.
