The institute features state-of-the-art research facilities, including Bosch Lab, Intel Intelligent Lab, IoT Lab, Digital Twin Technology Lab, and Nanotechnology Lab, offering rich opportunities for academic and applied research.Role Description The Assistant Professor role is a full-time, on-site position based at AVIT near Chennai. The selected candidate will design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, prepare lesson plans and teaching materials, and engage learners through lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions. Daily responsibilities include mentoring and advising students, assessing performance through assignments and examinations, and maintaining accurate academic records. The role also involves conducting and publishing research, applying for grants, collaborating on projects using the institute’s advanced laboratories, and contributing to curriculum development in line with emerging technologies. The Assistant Professor will participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, and outreach initiatives that strengthen the institute’s industry and community engagement.Department: EEE/ECE/CSEQualificationsAdvanced academic preparation, typically a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.Demonstrated teaching ability, including course planning, lecture delivery, and student assessment at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.Evidence of research aptitude, such as publications, conference presentations, or ongoing projects, preferably aligned with areas like IoT, digital twin technology, nanotechnology, or related fields.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support inclusive, student-centered learning and effective collaboration with colleagues and industry partners.Ability to integrate current industry practices and emerging technologies into teaching and research, leveraging advanced laboratory facilities.Commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory academic practices and to fostering a diverse, respectful, and supportive learning environment.Experience with academic administration, accreditation processes, or outcome-based education methodologies is an advantage.Willingness to engage in continuous professional development, institutional service, community outreach, and industry collaboration activities.Note: Candidate who can join immediately will be given first preference.
