Company Description KMEA Engineering College, established in 2002 in fond memory of Sri. C.H. Mohammed Koya, is a professionally managed institution offering B.Tech programs in seven engineering disciplines and M.Tech programs in selected fields. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and approved by AICTE, the college serves around 2,000 students with a faculty strength of approximately 200. The 27-acre campus at Edathala near Kakkanad provides a quiet, focused environment for advanced technical education and research. KMEA hosts the first Electronics Incubation Centre established by the Government of Kerala in a new-generation engineering college, acts as a remote center of IIT Bombay, and maintains advanced infrastructure including a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi system. The college regularly organizes national and international seminars and workshops that connect academia with industry and promote innovation.Role Description The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate engineering courses, preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions, and evaluating student performance through assignments, examinations, and projects. The role includes designing and updating course materials, mentoring students on academic and professional development, and contributing to curriculum enhancement within the department. The Assistant Professor is expected to engage in research, scholarly publications, and funded projects, and to participate in departmental and college-level committees and initiatives. Responsibilities also include guiding student projects, supporting seminars, workshops, and outreach activities, and maintaining high standards of academic integrity and classroom management. This is a full-time, on-site role located at KMEA Engineering College in Kochi (Edathala near Kakkanad).Qualifications Relevant postgraduate degree (ME/M.Tech/MS) in an engineering discipline aligned with the department, with strong academic credentials; PhD in Engineering or related field is preferred.Demonstrated teaching aptitude, including the ability to design course content, deliver engaging lectures, and conduct effective laboratory and tutorial sessions.Research-oriented mindset with evidence of publications, conference presentations, or ongoing projects; ability to guide student research and project work.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders, and for participation in seminars and workshops.Familiarity with modern pedagogical tools, educational technologies, and learning management systems; comfort with using campus-wide Wi-Fi and digital resources for teaching and administration.Commitment to ethical academic practices, student mentoring, and contributing to institutional development through committee work and co-curricular activities.Eligibility and qualifications as per AICTE and Mahatma Gandhi University norms; prior teaching experience in an engineering college is an advantage.
