Yenepoya University is committed to achieving higher levels of academic excellence and creating an environment that supports innovative teaching, research, and learner-centered education.Role Description The Assistant Professor role is a full-time, on-site position located in Chennai. The individual in this role will deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and facilitate classroom discussions in their area of specialization. Responsibilities include designing and updating course materials, assessing student performance through assignments and examinations, and providing academic guidance, mentoring, and support to students. The Assistant Professor will participate in research activities, publish scholarly work, and contribute to curriculum development and department meetings. Additional duties include engaging in academic events, collaborating with colleagues on institutional initiatives, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance processes as needed.Qualifications Advanced academic qualifications, typically a Master’s degree with NET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.Demonstrated teaching ability, including experience with lesson planning, classroom instruction, and student evaluation at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.Research aptitude, evidenced by publications, conference presentations, or ongoing research projects.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and mentor a diverse student population.Commitment to student-centered learning, academic integrity, and collaborative work within the department and university.Familiarity with educational technology, learning management systems, and modern pedagogical methods.Willingness to participate in institutional development, extension activities, and continuous professional development.
