The individual will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, design and update curricula, and provide academic advising to students. Daily responsibilities include conducting and publishing scholarly research, applying for grants or research funding, and participating in departmental meetings and committees. The role also involves supervising student projects and theses, contributing to community and university service activities, and collaborating with colleagues on academic and research initiatives. The Assistant Professor is expected to uphold the university’s values, including academic integrity, inclusivity, and a moderate Islamic perspective where relevant to the discipline.Qualifications Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as health sciences, chemistry, applied sciences, engineering, or a related field.Demonstrated experience in university-level teaching, course design, and student assessment.Strong research record or clear potential, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in academic conferences.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to teach and engage a diverse student body.Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory academic practices aligned with the university’s values.Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to departmental governance.Familiarity with modern pedagogical methods and educational technologies for classroom and laboratory teaching.Fluency in Arabic and/or English, with proficiency sufficient for teaching and academic writing; bilingual ability is an asset.Evidence of community engagement, outreach, or service activities, particularly those supporting sustainable development.Willingness to mentor students and early-career researchers and to support their academic and professional growth.
