Our MGKVP-affiliated BCA (60 seats, six semesters) sits on a 23-year-old campus of 17 programmes and 5,000+ alumni. We are appointing one Assistant Professor in Computer Science to strengthen the department.THE MANDATEThe Trust is strengthening the BCA around three goals:
- Programming fundamentals taught so students can build and debug — C, C++, data structures, Java and DBMS.
- Python, AI/ML foundations and project work as BITE's own elective track beyond the MGKVP scheme.
- A well-run 60-system lab: parallel programming, DBMS and networking practicals.WHAT YOU WILL DOCore:
- Teach in the six-semester MGKVP BCA — papers allocated by the Principal and the HoD.
- Supervise the semester-5 minor and semester-6 major projects.
- Prepare students for placement interviews and MCA / M.Sc entrance; guide certification choices.One lead role, allocated by the Principal:
- Lab lead — schedules, upkeep, server room, procurement inputs; or
- Placement-readiness lead — coding practice, mock interviews, certifications.WHAT YOU MUST HAVEUnder the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers, 2018, clause 4.1(I):
- A Master's degree — MCA, M.Tech or M.Sc in Computer Science, IT or an allied computing discipline — with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade (50% where the clause 3.4 relaxation applies).
- UGC NET in Computer Science and Applications (or a SET valid in Uttar Pradesh), OR a PhD awarded under the UGC PhD Regulations 2009 or 2016, which exempts you from NET.BITE's own requirements:
- A PhD in Computer Science, Computer Applications or IT is preferred. A promising candidate without a PhD will be considered — for them, UGC NET in Computer Science and Applications is mandatory.
- Three years or more of teaching at UG or PG level in a recognised college or university. Time spent solely on a PhD does not count; teaching held alongside a PhD without leave does (clause 3.11).
- Fluent spoken and written English and Hindi. Fluency in English is a must.WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
- You have taught an AI/ML or Python course or supervised projects using them, and use AI tools in teaching with a clear view of where they must not be used.
- Industry certifications, with a view on which ones BCA students should earn.
- Hands-on experience running a computer lab or networking practicals.
- Expertise in communication and soft-skills training.
- Academic-administration experience: coordinator, examination, IQAC or timetable roles.VARANASI CONNECTIONCandidates based in Varanasi or the neighbouring districts, or with roots in this region (hometown, family, or studied at BHU, MGKVP or another institution here), are especially encouraged to apply; candidates willing to relocate to Varanasi are welcome. - Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience — pay is not a constraint for the right candidate; paid twelve months a year. Regular appointment (not a session-wise or fixed-term contract) with a six-month (one-semester) probation.
- BITE submits every faculty appointment to MGKVP for approval under Section 31 of the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973, and gives you a copy of the approval.
- 50 hours of professional development a year, counted.
- A 60-system computer lab with high-speed internet and a server room for networking practicals.
